Slater’s 50/50 15th Anniversary Celebration Brings a Burger Showdown to Liberty Station

The Slater’s 50/50 15th Anniversary Celebration is serving up the ultimate block party, packed with epic burger battles, live entertainment, and all the indulgent flavors that made the iconic 50/50 burger a national sensation.

Hosted by Troy Johnson, this Liberty Station showdown will bring together top local chefs, influencers, and food lovers for an unforgettable afternoon of competition, bites, and brews.

Battle for Burger Brilliance

This milestone event is centered around the “Design It” Burger Showdown, where San Diego’s top culinary talents—including Blaze 619, Le Parfait Paris, Not Your Nonna’s, Randy’s Donuts, Stone Brewing, and Taqueria Revolution—will go head-to-head crafting the ultimate burger.

A panel of celebrity judges, including Sam the Cooking Guy, Scott Slater (Slater’s Founder), Arianna Cohen (CBS 8), and Heather Lake (FOX5), will determine the winner based on creativity, flavor, and presentation. Troy Johnson will crown the champion after tasting the final two contenders.

And the grand prize? The winning burger will earn a spot on the Slater’s 50/50 menu for an entire year!
