South Park Celebrates Its Historic Homes In The 20th Annual Old House Fair
The 20th annual Old House Fair is South Park’s historic home tour bringing together vintage home specialists, historic preservation enthusiasts, home owners and history lovers in celebration of the historic homes and character of our neighborhood. This year we celebrate South Park’s newly designated historic district bounded by 28th Street to the west, Elm Street to the north, 31st Street to the east and A Street to the south.
Each year the Old House Fair Home Tour features five historic homes in the South Park neighborhood. With your ticket, you’ll enjoy each home on the tour with docent-lead education and history. You may view the houses in any order you choose, and hop on and off the trolley with your tour ticket.
South Park first appeared in city records in 1870 and was lauded in a 1906 San Diego Union Tribune ad: “Come to South Park to live; to breathe the best air; to see the finest view; to enjoy the pleasantest and most healthful surroundings; to LIVE!”
Today South Park is an eclectic mix of independent boutiques, cafes, and taverns surrounded by historic homes and public spaces. Come to South Park and explore the charm in the heart of the city.
