“St. Paddy’s O’Beach Party” Debuts In Ocean Beach

The organizers behind OB Oktoberfest and the legendary OB Street Fair and Chili Cook-off announced their newest beachside event, “St. Paddy’s O’Beach Party” on March 19.  To celebrate the Irish holiday, the organizers invite the public (21+) to Ocean Beach, where Newport meets the pier, for the all-day and night event!

“Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day the Ocean Beach Way”

Kicking-off at 11AM, party-goers can expect live music from local bands and DJs (full lineup and headliner coming soon), green beer, cocktails, and St. Paddy’s Day-themed games including; a Corned Beef Invitational cornhole tournament, a pup pageant, Mr. & Ms. Corned Beef contest, “Leprechaun Limbo” and more.

The first 500 people will receive a gold coin redeemable for a variety of prizes including cocktails, swag and cash, as well as the opportunity to participate in the first-ever “Guac Off” featuring samples of guacamole from 10 local vendors and a chance to cast a vote for their favorite.

“There’s an authentic way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, there’s the way people outside of Ireland celebrate, and then there’s the Ocean Beach way,” said Scott Slaga, local restaurant owner (Winstons & 710 Beach Club) and event organizers. “At the core, we are still socializing and storytelling in the traditional color green, but in Ocean Beach we’re celebrating our favorite green food – Guacamole – and featuring live music from San Diego’s top local bands. Expect a St. Paddy’s Day party with a true San Diego twist.”

Building a thriving business district

Proceeds from the St. Paddy’s O’Beach Party will benefit the Ocean Beach MainStreet Association, an organization dedicated to building a thriving business district that fulfills the needs of the neighboring community and visitors alike, and The Peninsula Alliance, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities and implementing change in our Point Loma and Ocean Beach communities.

According to Slaga and event organizers, the events at this location in Ocean Beach typically bring in 10,000 people.
