Between the baking competition, a Thriller dance lesson, and a full night of concessions and face painting, this is shaping up to be one of the neighborhood’s most fun fall traditions.
Bring Your Best Bake to the Park
If you’ve ever watched The Great British Baking Show and wished you could enter, here’s your chance.
Enter one of three baking categories and bring your submissions to the park for peer review and voting, with winners receiving a prize in each category.
Bakers should bring at least two dozen of their submission along with a recipe card outlining ingredients so allergens can be properly managed for the judges, and submissions are due to the park ahead of the movie.
Want to be a judge instead? Arrive early to pay for your judges ballot and get first dibs on sampling every entry.
A Pre-Movie Dance Party
Before the movie starts, everyone’s invited to learn Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance in a free pre-screening activity that’s sure to get the whole park moving.
Movie concessions will be available too, along with face painting for anyone looking to complete their spooky-season look. No dance experience is required, so don’t be shy about joining in even if you’ve never tried the moves before.
It’s the perfect way to warm up the crowd before everyone settles in for the film.
Come Prepared for Movie Night
Arrive early to claim your spot on the grass, and bring a picnic blanket or low seated chairs to sit on, plus a jacket since it can cool off quickly once the sun goes down.
Feel free to bring your own picnic too, or cozy up with one of the UHCA blankets on hand. Either way, a little planning ahead goes a long way toward a comfortable night under the stars.
