Walter Redondo’s Open Art Studio Launches at Granger Hotel
The Grand Opening of Open Art Studio by Walter Redondo is happening at the beautifully restored Granger Hotel, and it’s your chance to be among the first to experience San Diego’s newest creative space.
This free, open-to-the-public celebration will showcase new works by acclaimed abstract artist (and former tennis pro!) Walter Redondo, whose expressive style has earned a loyal following.
Guests will enjoy light bites, live music by local favorite Jolene Cruz, and a special address from Walter himself, who will debut fresh pieces and offer a look inside his creative process.

A Studio with a Story
Open Art Studio by Walter Redondo is more than just a gallery—it’s a working space where you’ll find Walter creating his next series in real time. Located inside the Granger Hotel, the studio also serves as the hotel’s first-ever Artist in Residency program.
Along with his abstract paintings, Walter will also be debuting never-before-seen sculptures, offering visitors and collectors a unique behind-the-scenes look at his evolving body of work.
The space will be open by appointment only after the grand opening—ideal for collectors, art lovers, and even private events looking for an inspiring backdrop.

A Creative Landmark in the Gaslamp
Housed in a stunning 1904 Romanesque building designed by William Quayle, Granger Hotel blends old-world charm with modern sophistication.
With handmade tiles, local artwork, and intimate spaces like the Parlor Room cocktail lounge, it’s the perfect home for Redondo’s expressive work—and a fitting venue for one of San Diego’s most anticipated art debuts this spring.
