The Smoking Gun Partners With Extraordinary Banana Pudding For Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, The Smoking Gun is partnering with Extraordinary Banana Pudding to bring the tasty treats from this black-owned business to the Gaslamp all February long!

For every pudding sold, the duo will be donating $1 to the Blue Heart Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to underserved African American male youth ages 13-18 in the Greater San Diego community.

The Blue Heart Foundation offers a solid holistic mentoring program through adult and peer mentorship, that facilitates positive interactions, education, empowerment, and emotional wellbeing that is a critical part of their lives.

Extraordinary Banana Pudding, based in La Mesa, is serving the community all-things pudding using Owner Toran Gray’s great-grandmother’s original banana pudding recipe. Their collaboration with The Smoking Gun will be a huge stride in bringing their delectable treats to other neighborhoods in San Diego!

When asked how the collaboration came about, Co-Owner of The Smoking Gun, Randy Wagener, explains, “I live over near the shop and frequent it with my son, family, and friends, so I’m hoping to share that same experience, of Toran’s banana pudding, with people who may have never had it on their radar. My goal is to help him get exposure for his business; I would love nothing more than this to take off in our collaboration and introduce a bunch of people to where they can get one of the best treats in San Diego.”

What better way to celebrate Black History Month than with supporting black-owned business and the Blue Heart Foundation right in the heart of the Gaslamp?

Extraordinary Banana Pudding will be available all through the month of February, at The Smoking Gun, at 555 Market Street, San Diego CA 92101.

Open Monday through Friday, 3PM–2AM and Saturday and Sunday from 10AM–2AM. For more info, visit the website here and follow them on Instagram and Facebook.

See you there, San Diego!
