The Show Must Go On: FWSD Launches Virtual Runway Shows
Since the announcement of Fashion Week San Diego’s (FWSD) return and their exciting new series of events in San Diego and New York, the annual event has shifted gears to amend the shelter-in-place orders and bring fashion shows straight to your living room.
FWSD just launched their new, innovative series of virtual runway shows, with the first show taking place last Friday, May 15th, with 2020 designer Vaughnberry.
With the help of FWSD videographer, Broadway Hill, the monthly series will showcase two models displaying eight of the designer’s looks at venue Luce Loft, all shot at a safe distance. The shows can be found on IGTV, FWSD YouTube channel, and the FWSD website.
Additionally, FWSD founder, Allison Andrews, was recently on CBS 8 to discuss their efforts and the one-of-a-kind virtual runway shows.
This is just one of many initiatives FWSD has put into place since March, with more exciting events on the horizon. To date, more than a dozen of FWSD designers, both past and present, have devoted their quarantine time to making masks and filming DIY tutorials demonstrating how to make masks at home. FWSD has also donated and dropped off over 600 masks to local San Diego hospitals, with more being donated every day.
Stay healthy, San Diego!
