Your Guide To This Week’s North County Concerts
Feeling dinner and a show? North County has eats and performances all in one place this weekend. Between the Street Fair in Encinitas and Irish pub music Carlsbad, you won’t want for good music and good food.
Fanny & the Attaboys – 4/28
American roots, country swing and depression-era jazz come together to make beautiful sounds when Fanny & the Attaboys take the stage.
The Attaboys’ playing complements Fanny’s powerhouse voice and blues stylings perfectly. Banjos and an upright bass help create that vintage sound.
Spend your Friday night with friends at Pour House.
Brogue Wave – 4/28
These Irish rockers turn any pub into a party. Staying true to its roots, Brogue Wave uses traditional Irish instruments such as the bodhran (a small frame drum). You’ll even hear a fiddle thrown into the mix.
Come on down and be Irish for a night at O’Sullivan’s.
Seedheads – 4/28
Melodic keyboard, heavy bass and flying guitar solos form Seedheads’ unique reggae sound. San Diego natives, Seedheads can be found playing venues around the county.
Relax with a brew and Seedheads’ Irie reggae at Aztec Brewing Company.
The 34th Annual Spring Street Fair fills up the 101 in Encinitas with music, vendors and food. There are rides for the kids and a Beer Garden for the adults.
If you missed Seedheads yesterday, catch the band on the 101 today. Two stages exist for your enjoyment: the Mainstage and Courtyard.
Six String Society’s 27 Club – 4/30
Six String Society calls its musicians “cast members” since all of its shows are musical theater productions. And this is one production that goes above and beyond.
Join Six String Society as its cast members celebrate the lives and music of the infamous 27 Club: Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison and Amy Winehouse.
Each Six String Society show is a unique experience. Be sure not to miss this one!
