A Haunting in Venice Cruises Bring Moody Halloween Vibes to Coronado Cays

Halloween events tend to fall into two camps: family-friendly activities with inflatables and candy, or bar crawls in questionable costumes.

The Gondola Company is offering something that sits comfortably outside both categories—A Haunting in Venice Cruises, returning for another year of atmospheric rides through the Coronado Cays canals.

Haunting in Venice Cruise

Eerie Elegance Over Jump Scares

This isn’t a haunted house on water. The experience leans into mood and ambiance rather than trying to terrify anyone.

Masked and caped phantom gondoliers guide you through the quiet canals after dark while soft organ music and haunting melodies set the tone. It’s inspired by the film A Haunting in Venice, which means the vibe is more mysterious dinner party than chainsaw massacre.

Costumes are encouraged but not required, so you can commit as much or as little as you want to the theme.

The Gondola Company

New Black Rose Bouquet Option

The Gondola Company added a new element this year: the Black Rose Boo-quet, a dozen black roses available for pre-order starting at $85. It needs to be ordered at least 48 hours in advance, but it’s the kind of detail that makes the experience feel more curated.

Halloween-themed drinks are also available to enhance the ride. Moscato’s Curse runs $27, while Blood On The Vine—a cabernet—is $29. Standard gondola add-ons for anyone who wants to turn this into more of an occasion.

A Haunting in Venice Cruises

Group Option for Larger Parties

For anyone organizing a group Halloween outing that isn’t just “meet at a bar,” The Haunting Caorlina Cruise accommodates up to 14 guests on a single gondola.

At $530 including gratuity, it comes with the eerie soundtrack, one unwrapped black rose per guest, complimentary corkage, blankets, and the full canal experience. It’s a different approach to group celebrations that works well for people who’ve aged out of house parties but still want to do something for Halloween.

See you there!

The cruises run for six nights starting late afternoon, giving flexibility for when you want to fit this into your Halloween plans.

📆 October 26–31, starting at 3:30 PM
