The Haven Pizzeria Gets a Fresh Look and a Spring Menu to Match

Kensington has long had a soft spot for The Haven Pizzeria, and it’s easy to see why. Thirteen-plus years on Adams Avenue and a warm neighborhood vibe contribute to its charm. The restaurant also has a commitment to locally sourced ingredients. As a result, this place has earned its spot as a neighborhood staple.

Now, with a redesigned dining room and a new lineup of seasonal dishes and drinks, there’s even more reason to pull up a chair.

Haven Pizzeria Dining Room

A Space That Feels Like a Breath of Fresh Air

The updated space leans into everything that already made The Haven feel like a gem. The vibe has just turned up a notch. Rich green tones, warm wood tables, new banquette seating, and lush greenery give the room a fresh, inviting energy. This energy feels right at home in Kensington.

Owner Lauren Passero-Brookes – also behind Kensington Café and the recently opened Daffodil Café in La Jolla – has a knack for creating spaces that feel genuinely welcoming. The redesigned Haven is no exception.

New Sips to Kick Things Off

The spring cocktail lineup is worth getting excited about. The Guava Margarita brings a tropical, slightly tart edge that’s refreshing without being overly sweet. Additionally, the spritz and sangria flights are a fun way to try a few things at once. Mocktail options mean everyone at the table is covered.

Spring Dishes Worth Making Room For

The new seasonal additions make a strong case for coming in soon. The Burrata and Beet Salad is a solid opener – creamy, earthy, and nicely balanced.

The Salmone and Poblano Shrimp Pasta round things out with a bit more substance. These dishes showcase what The Haven does best – quality local ingredients, simply done well.
