San Diego Gets Its Own Massive Outdoor Light Festival This Summer

Imaginarium’s new outdoor light spectacle “Utopia” is transforming two acres of Las Americas Premium Outlets into a dazzling world of romance, fantasy, and five million lights.

This all-ages walk-through experience combines immersive art installations with the San Diego debut of John’s Adrenaline Circus for something completely different from the usual summer entertainment options.

What Makes Utopia Special

The festival creates themed experience zones inspired by beloved romantic stories—think moonlit gardens of soulmates, swan-filled lakes of devotion, and castle corridors of everlasting love.

It’s designed as “a love letter to enchantment,” where whimsical installations and fairytales come to life in glowing color, creating an idyllic escape that’s meant to stir the heart and ignite the imagination.

Beyond just looking pretty, Utopia offers interactive elements like infinity mirror rooms where reflections stretch endlessly in all directions, themed photo boxes where you can pose on glowing moons and swings surrounded by flowers and stars, and immersive activity rooms with laser mazes and illuminated spheres you can actually bounce on.

The Adrenaline Circus Addition

New to Imaginarium, John’s Adrenaline Circus brings high-energy entertainment that blends traditional circus elements with extreme sports.

We’re talking motorcycle daredevils, BMX stunt riders, aerialists, acrobats, jugglers, and comedic clown acts, plus the world-famous “Globe of Death” where riders perform death-defying stunts inside a steel sphere.

This combination of peaceful, romantic light installations with heart-pounding circus performances creates something for every mood and energy level. You can wander through dreamy, illuminated landscapes and then get your adrenaline pumping with extreme sports entertainment.

See you there!
