Unlock Adventure as Kids Go Free at 50+ San Diego Museums This October

October is about to become your favorite month of the year. The San Diego Museum Council is bringing back their wildly popular Kids Free San Diego program for its 13th year running!

Kids Free San Diego

For the entire month of October, kiddos 12 and under can explore over 50 of San Diego County‘s coolest museums, attractions, and cultural hotspots without spending a dime.

We’re talking free admission to some of our city’s most iconic spots like the USS Midway Museum, Fleet Science Center, Birch Aquarium, and San Diego Air & Space Museum. Plus, there are tons of hidden gems just waiting to be discovered.

The Fleet Science Center

Something for Every Little Explorer

“There really is something for every age and interest, no matter what your kids are into,” says Bob Lehman, Executive Director of the San Diego Museum Council. And he’s not exaggerating!

Whether your little ones are budding artists, science whizzes, history buffs, or nature lovers, there’s a spot (or ten) that’ll light up their eyes. Art museums? Check. Science centers? You bet. Historical sites? Absolutely.

And for those families who prefer the great outdoors, there are gardens, parks, nature centers, and hiking trails galore. It’s the perfect way to soak up San Diego’s beautiful fall weather while sneaking in some education (but don’t tell the kids that part).

How to Get In on the Action

Ready to start planning your October adventure marathon? Here’s what you need to know:

  • Free admission is available for up to two kids (ages 12 and under) for every adult ticket purchased.
  • Click here to download a Kids Free coupon for each venue you want to visit.
  • Present your coupon at the museum’s admission desk, and voila! Free entry for your little ones.

Pro tip: Some museums might have restrictions, so it’s a good idea to check the website before you go.

Beyond Museums

Other major attractions are getting in on the fun too. The San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND® California Resort, SEA LIFE® Aquarium, Belmont Park, and Sesame Place are all offering their own Kids Free deals.

Want to make it a full-on family vacay? Check out the Kids Free San Diego website for deals on hotels, restaurants, and activities throughout the month.

“Kids Free is the perfect time for families to enjoy time together, learning, playing, and creating new memories,” says Alethea Arguilez, Executive Director of First 5 San Diego. We couldn’t agree more! It’s a chance to explore, learn, and have a blast without breaking the bank.

See you there!

So, get ready for Kids Free San Diego, download those coupons, and enjoy a month of unforgettable family adventures. Don’t forget to share your experiences on social media using #KidsFreeSD. You might just inspire another family to discover the magic of San Diego’s museums!
