Liberty Station Spreads Holiday Cheer with Seasonal Events

San Diego’s Liberty Station is bringing holiday cheer with a variety of seasonal activities and events for everyone in the family to enjoy. From a magical tree lighting event, an outdoor ice rink for skating, The Nutcracker Tea Party ballet performance, to an array of holiday shopping, Liberty Station is one of San Diego’s top holiday destinations.

Liberty Station Tree Lighting and Salute the Season

Liberty Station invites the community to celebrate the season at the 2019 Salute the Season main event, the Liberty Station Tree Lighting & Holiday Festivities, taking place in the North Promenade on Friday, Nov. 29, from 4 to 9 p.m.

Visitors will enjoy a magical evening of the iconic 88-foot Norfolk pine tree lighting as well as live entertainment, festive firetruck rides, free photos with Santa, and The Grinch movie showing. Salute the Season will continue with more celebrations, including The Nutcracker Tea Party and Rady Children’s Ice Rink at Liberty Station.

Rady Children’s Ice Rink

Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary and Liberty Station welcome the community to celebrate the holiday season with outdoor ice skating beginning Thursday, Nov. 14, and closing Sunday, Jan. 5. Net proceeds benefit the Thriving After Cancer program in the Rady Children’s Hospital’s Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Nutcracker Tea Party

Liberty Station announces the return of the 2nd Annual Nutcracker Tea Party at Building 177 on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Locals and visitors are invited once again to partake in the magic of the holiday season with a family-friendly event, encompassing a joyous afternoon of a narrated performance of The Nutcracker by San Diego Ballet, scrumptious treats and hot cocoa, photo opportunities with Santa, an interactive demonstration by the Ballet, and much more! Tickets are $55 and are available for purchase here.
