Lofty Coffee’s 15th Anniversary Means Free Coffee for Everyone

Some coffee shops are just coffee shops. And then there’s Lofty. The Encinitas-born café that started as a single neighborhood spot in 2011 has spent the last 15 years growing into something that feels a lot more like a community than a business. To mark the milestone, Lofty is doing what good neighbors do – they’re buying the coffee.

Lofty Coffee Encinitas

Free Coffee at All Lofty Locations

To celebrate 15 years, every Lofty café location is pouring free house coffee on May 15 (airport location excluded). No catch, no purchase required. Just show up, grab a cup, and feel good about being part of something that’s been worth sticking with.

It’s a simple gesture, but it says a lot about how Lofty operates. This is a brand that has grown because people genuinely love it, not because of a marketing playbook.

From One Neighborhood to All of San Diego

What started with one café and a clear commitment to quality coffee and community has become six locations woven into the daily routines of San Diegans across the region – and yes, even into the airport, because apparently some of us can’t board a plane without a proper cup first.

The growth has been real, but so has the consistency. The same philosophy that opened its doors in Encinitas is still running the show today.

Share Your Story, Win $100

Lofty also wants to hear from the people who made those 15 years possible. Every regular has a story – the coffee shop that became an office, a first date spot, or just a non-negotiable part of the weekend. Now’s the chance to tell it.

To enter the giveaway:

  • Post on your Instagram feed about your history with Lofty – a memory, a moment, whatever feels right
  • Tag @LoftyCoffeeco
  • Posts must go up between May 13 and May 31
  • One random winner takes home a $100 gift card
  • No purchase necessary, one entry per person
  • Winner announced early June 2026

Whether you’ve been ordering since the early Encinitas days or you’re still getting to know the menu, the invite is open to everyone.

See you there!

Fifteen years of great coffee and good people are worth celebrating. Come grab a free cup, share your story, and be part of what makes Lofty so easy to love.
