Wave Hello to Oceanside’s Newest Artistic Splash
The Oceanside Transit Center just got a major glow-up thanks to Art that Excites program, MainStreet Oceanside’s public art initiative. San Diego artist Jonny Pucci has wrapped up his stunning three-story mural ahead of schedule, transforming this everyday parking structure into a visual love letter to our coastal city’s rich heritage.
Three Stories of Pure Magic
The design, chosen by popular vote, turns the parking structure into a canvas that tells our city’s story. Starting from the northwest corner, you’ll spot intricate Spanish tile patterns that give a respectful nod to the OG Santa Fe Depot and our 1946 train station.
As your eyes follow the exterior staircase, a school of tuna dances up the wall—a playful tribute to our harbor’s fishing legacy. And just when you think it can’t get better, boom—a massive 30-foot wave crashes across the ocean-facing wall, bringing all that Pacific energy right into downtown.
See you there!
