Things are heating up this month at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, with performances taking to the outdoors for everyone to enjoy. From hip-hop performances to the sounds of music, there is no better place to soak in the sunshine than at San Diego’s largest arts and culture district.

INTERNATIONAL MAKE MUSIC DAY | June 21

On Tuesday, June 21, ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station is coming alive with the sounds of music thanks to Apt 4 Music and Songbirds Music. In celebration of International Make Music Day, join us for an all-day music production taking place from 10AM-5PM featuring music workshops along with a final grand performance at 4PM in North Promenade (2848 Dewey Rd) by a junior band provided by Apt 4 Music.

This program was made possible by the NTC Foundation with generous support from Bank of Southern California and RiverRock Real Estate Group.

SUMMER SOLSTICE | June 21

What better way to enjoy the longest day of the year than with a celebration of all things arts and culture?

On June 21, artists and creatives are opening their doors to welcome in a little extra sunlight and the community to come check out their working spaces, watch them create art in real-time, and learn more about the inspiration and process in creating their work. The evening begins at 5PM in the Command Center with cocktails and wine with a select group of artists highlighting their work – followed by a dance performance from H2O Dance Company on the North Promenade.

Next, indulge in a four-course meal at Solare with an “Evening of Seafood” dinner led by San Diego’s own fishmonger, Tommy Gomes. As you feast, you will be serenaded by Rice Enright and Apt 4 Music. The entire experience is $88++ per person, reservations are required, and you can reserve your seats by calling 619-270-9670, or emailing [email protected].

SHOCK IN THE PARK PERFORMANCE & DANCE BATTLE | June 26

On Sunday, June 26 from 12PM-3PM check out “Shock in the Park” presented by Culture Shock in Central Promenade (2641 Truxton Rd). Culture Shock is a nonprofit Hip Hop dance organization dedicated to innovative performance, entertainment, artist development, education, and community outreach.

This free community event will feature a variety of dance performances and open freestyle sessions by some of San Diego’s best dance troupes.
