Javier’s Cantina

If you’d like your next tequila story to be a little more ‘refined’, you can’t go wrong with Javier’s Cantina at the Westfield UTC Mall. They have one of the best tequila and margarita menus we’ve ever found, and their food is second to none.

The Blind Burro

In honor of National Tequila Day, The Blind Burro will be offering a special Mango Paloma, which combines Cutwater Tequila Blanco, Fresh Lime Juice, Mango Puree, Simple Syrup, Splash of Squirt, and a Black Salt Rim. The specialty cocktail will be available exclusively on Saturday, July 24, and will cost $14. To keep the party going, Cutwater Spirits will be at The Blind Burro from 4-6PM, giving out samples of their latest cocktails.

La Puerta

La Puerta, Gaslamp’s 13-year old Cantina known for its quality Sinaloan-inspired food and selection of agave tequila, is the perfect place to celebrate National Tequila Day this year. With well over 100 tequilas to enjoy, ranging from small batch distillers to more recognizable tequila names, La Puerta’s tequila selection represents one of the finest in all of San Diego.

All tequilas served at La Puerta are 100% blue agave and most are from Jalisco, Mexico- the birthplace of tequila. Whether you’re a tequila sipper or cocktail drinker, La Puerta has something for everyone. If you’re a mezcal lover, try one of their new cocktails like the Late Last Night made with Green Chartreuse, Mezcal, Luxardo and Lime or the Dance Yourself Clean with Lemon, Grapefruit and Cinnamon Syrup, Dry Vermouth, Mezcal, Soda and Mint. Best of all, head to La Puerta during happy hour on July 24 and get half off the entire bar from 3PM-5PM.

Puesto Mexican Artisan Kitchen and Bar

Nothing beats a Puesto Perfect Margarita made with blue agave reposado tequila, fresh lime, and organic agave nectar, but the agave spirits collection at Puesto runs deep thanks to Beau du Bois, Bar & Spirits Creative Director at Puesto. Mango, watermelon, cucumber —oh my! And those are just the margaritas, which use a variety of high-end tequilas to create the most balanced and tasty cocktails.

If you want to take a deeper dive and sample more of the tequila options at Puesto, opt for the tequila flight which features three 4 oz. pours. If you are all for celebrating with friends, Puesto has you covered on National Tequila Day when they will be offering a free order of any of their delicious guacamoles, including the Puesto Perfect Guacamole when you order a bottle of Puesto Perfect Margaritas ($52) to share with friends.

Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa

Celebrate National Tequila Day at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, the hacienda-style retreat, where you might even want to spend the night after enjoying all their tequila day specials. Stop by Mustangs & Burros between 4PM and 9PM on July 24 to enjoy complimentary Dobel & Herradura Tequila tastings, 15% off agave flights and specialty cocktails for $16.

In honor of National Tequila Day, the specialty cocktails include Ranch Water made with Herradura Tequila, Lime and Topo Chico, the Tequila Michelada with Coronita made with Tanteo Tequila, Lime, Clamato, Corona, Hot Sauce and a Tajin Rim, and the Tequila Mojitarita made with Dobel Tequila, Lime, Brown Sugar and Mint Soda.

Vistal at Intercontinental San Diego

Water views, bay breezes and fireside tables provide the ideal spot to cheers to National Tequila Day at Vistal, the Intercontinental’s signature restaurant. The Bird Across the Bay, made with Volcan Tequila, Angostura Bitters, Fresh Pineapple, Lime and Ginger Beer is a vacation vibe-inducing libation that puts tequila front and center. Boozy and refreshing, this tiki-inspired cocktail even comes in a festive parrot glass. Grab a friend and head to Vistal for this tequila cocktail that may replace your favorite margarita as a tequila-focused drink.

barleymash

The Gaslamp restaurant and bar will feature great deals on Teremana Blanco and Teremana Reposado -both of which can be enjoyed on their own or as a margarita for $4 more. The team at barleymash will also offer speciality cocktails, which include the refreshing Strawberry Fields, made with Teremana Blanco, lime, strawberry, and basil, and the Jalisco Nights, consisting of Teremana Repo, averna, and bitters.

Pair any special with one of Chef Kevin’s tasty dishes, like the scratch-made Spiced Shrimp barley Flatbread with peppers and onions, pickled chilis, pepper jack, and Cajun sauce, or the Citrus Vodka Shrimp Ceviche, a light and tasty sharable dish made with charred sweet corn, cucumber, salsa fresca, spicy guacamole, taro chips, and barley crackers.
