This Beer Is Very Important: New Anchorman-Themed Brew At 10 Barrel Brewing

East Village’s 10 Barrel Brewing Co. is releasing a series of beers based on San Diego’s own “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” Starting in September with house-brewed session IPA “Afternoon Delight,” 10 Barrel’s newest beer, “Rich Mahogany,” was just tapped and is now available at the pub.

Rich Mahogany (ABV 9%) is a barrel-aged Scottish ale brewed with Golden Promise malt, local honey and heather tips, THEN aged for three months in scotch whiskey barrels. It is now available at the East Village brewpub for $6.50 for a snifter glass.

As with all beers in the Anchorman series, Rich Mahogany was brewed locally by 10 Barrel San Diego’s award-winning brew master, Benjamin “Benny” Shirley, who most recently received a highly coveted brew master award at the San Diego International Beer Competition.
