New Fall Menus At Campfire, Il Dandy, And Café Gratitude

Since we’ve received our first few raindrops of the season, we think it’s officially fall in San Diego! So, we are sending fall menus that Campfire, Il Dandy, and Café Gratitude have just rolled out.

Cozy up with Campfire’s new menu from Chef Andrew Santana

Now fully settled in as Executive Chef at Campfire, Andrew Santana has rolled out a slew of new menu items that push the restaurant’s philosophy of open fire cooking to a new level.  Campfire’s updated offerings are evidence that Santana’s been busy experimenting with delicate ingredients, such as sweetbreads and scallops, as well as moving toward more primal style cuts and larger proteins, pulling in the use of globally-inspired flavors, and as always — sourcing local ingredients and working with small farms to develop hyper-seasonal dishes.

Campfire’s fall menu stand-outs include Lengua (lengua pastrami, sauerkraut, brussels sprouts, mustard, rye), Salmon Tartare (with tamarind, lime, kinilaw dressing and roe), and Scallops with sweetbreads, squash, truffle, and beans. Full menu available here.

Seasonal seafood and vegetarian dishes at Il Dandy

Il Dandy, San Diego’s answer for casual, modern Italian cuisine, has updated their opening menu with a robust selection of seasonal dishes. New additions to the menu underscore Il Dandy’s focus on flavors found in the coastal region of Calabria, fresh seafood and light vegetable-forward sides.

Highlights of Il Dandy’s new seasonal menu include Spaghetti with Maine lobster, fresh tomatoes, Calabrian chili pepper and basil; Insalate Polipo (European octopus, fennel, olives, romaine lettuce, celery, capers, bread crumbs, orange, Calabrian chili pepper oil); Cavolfiore Croccante (cauliflower, toasted hazelnut cream, truffle emulsion); and Tonno Alla Tropeana (breaded tuna, onions, creme fraiche, radicchio & orange salad). Full menu available here.

Café Gratitude’s new healthful and hearty breakfast, lunch/dinner and happy hour

Typically during the colder months, diners opt for heavier dishes which can ultimately lead to the dreaded holiday heft. Enter Café Gratitude to the rescue! With their new breakfast, lunch/dinner, and happy hour menus, Café Gratitude will keep you full, but not overly-full with delicious plant-based California cuisine.

Breakfast highlights include “Content” Cast-Iron Chickpea Quiche with kalamata olives, tomato, onion, cashew feta, spicy aioli; “Thrilled” French Toast with strawberry raspberry sauce, cashew crème fraîche, maple syrup, powdered sugar, sourdough bread; and “Nurtured” Breakfast Wrap (chickpea frittata, spicy cashew aioli, cashew mozzarella, chopped pickled vegetables, wheat tortilla, side of smashed red potatoes).

Recommended items for lunch and dinner are “Awesome” Eggplant Parmesan Focaccia with flash-fried eggplant, basil hempseed pesto, coconut burrata, marinara, arugula, side salad; “Whole” Macrobiotic Bowl with braised garnet yams, stewed adzuki beans, kimchee, sea vegetables, sautéed  kale, garlic tahini, toasted tamari almonds, brown rice or quinoa; or “Elated” Southwestern-style Enchiladas with jackfruit tinga, hatch chili sauce and creamy poblano sauce, avocado, pico de gallo, black beans, cashew queso fresco, brown rice.

Also, the happy hour is still available weekdays from 3-6pm, with the latest menu featuring everything from Korean sliders and loaded French fries to warm burrata in marinara to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Check out the new breakfast, happy hour and lunch/dinner menus here.

See you there!
