The Nolen Rooftop Reopens With Focus On Private Party-Inspired Socializing

The Nolen Rooftop, one of the most popular al fresco destinations in downtown San Diego, perched atop the 14th story of the Courtyard San Diego Gaslamp Hotel in the heart of downtown, debuted a new chapter with a reimagined approach to the hospitality experience as a result of ongoing health and safety parameters tied to the impacts of COVID 19.

The venue recently debuted a complete redesign, courtesy of Basile Studio, with expanded “edge” seating that gives guests show-stopping views of the city’s skyline and waterfront. The new design, a reimagined food and cocktail menu, and a new focus on private party-inspired service is only going to make The Nolen feel even more special.

A meticulous new standard of health and safety parameters

Leading with a meticulous new standard of health and safety parameters, the venue will undergo rigorous cleaning, renewed service, and social distancing practices to ensure the well being of all customers and employees, effective immediately. Further, the destination will adjust their concept to embrace a new vision for gathering, dining, and celebrating with friends and family that focuses on small groups, private function-style experiences, and an ongoing commitment to the signature standard of hospitality they are well known for.

Reservations required

The newly re-imagined outdoor experience will now welcome guests by reservation only on Friday and Saturday from 4:00pm-10:00pm and for Sunday brunch from 11:00am-2:00pm. A private elevator ride awaits each arriving group with the space disinfected in-between uses and once on-site, each party will enjoy a private seating area ensuring six feet social distancing standards. Guests will be required to wear masks upon entering the venue and when circulating throughout the space and personal bags will be provided at each table to house masks safely when not in-use.

Private and semi-private gatherings and dining

From Sunday evening through Thursday evening, the space will be exclusively available for private and semi-private gatherings and dining, where guests can enjoy use of the rooftop with a maximum capacity of 20 people per two-hour time period from 5:15pm-7:15pm or 8:00pm-10:00pm.

A special menu will be customized per group including a selection of signature food items such as beer braised short rib sliders, tuna poke, red, white & green flatbread and chocolate cheesecake woo bar. Per person menus may also feature a barrel aged signature cocktail, well-drinks and beer and wine options.

Pricing starts at $95 plus tax and gratuity per person. Each group will enjoy the attentive service of a dedicated bartender and server for the duration of their two-hour reservation with extra precautions given to all food and beverage preparation and service via plexiglass dividers, disposable gloves and in-depth cleaning.
