Puffer Malarkey Collective Opens Wood Yu

The Puffer Malarkey Collective (PMC) is pleased to announce the debut of their newest restaurant, Wood Yu. Located in the Alexandria Real Estate (ARE) Equities’ Torrey Ridge Science Center near Torrey Pines Reserve, Wood Yu marks the fourth collaboration between PMC and ARE. The teams have previously partnered to create PMC’s Farmer & The Seahorse, Green Acre Campus Pointe, and Green Acre Nautilus.

Menu highlights

Fusing popular flavors to create a new genre of Baja Asian Street food, Wood Yu’s menu, created by PMC partner/owner Chef Brian Malarkey and Wood Yu’s Culinary Directory Jordan Davis, couples Latin and Asian flavors. Menu highlights include playful dishes like Guacamole with Shoyu, Tuna Poke Tostada Bowl, Carne Asada Spring Rolls, Bao Bun Tacos, and “Al Pastor” Bahn Mi.

A forest walk inspired eatery

In order to achieve an in-office getaway, Gensler collaborated with PMC’s partner/owner Christopher Puffer to transform a former office lobby space into a forest walk-inspired eatery. The space features lush greenery, a sweeping banquette that curves and flows to the outdoor dining area, and a central bar that serves dual purposes ―serving breakfast and coffee in the mornings, and beer, wine and cocktails during lunch and happy hour.

Wood Yu features a large indoor-outdoor space, and is able to seat 160 people. The outdoor space includes a natural amphitheater that can host corporate retreats, meetings on the grass or weddings for up to 150 guests.

Where to go and when to be there

Located at 10578 Science Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92121, Wood Yu is now open for breakfast and lunch, with a happy hour launching in spring. Breakfast will be served Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 10:30am, and lunch will be served Monday through Friday from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

See you there!
