Pure Taco Brings Globally Inspired Tacos To Carlsbad Village

Pure Taco, the latest concept by co-founders of Casero Taqueria, Clayton Wheeler and Craig Applegate, and John Zagara, is excited to announce that they opened to the public this week, following a week of soft opening meals.

The newest addition to Carlsbad Village, Pure Taco is an elevated fast-casual, modern taqueria, bringing global flavors influenced by the vibrant multicultural fabric that makes up America today, while also serving specialty margaritas, palomas, and local beers on tap.

The Menu

Pure Taco’s signature tacos are served on fresh, hand-pressed tortillas and flavor profiles range from the traditional Pastor Tacos, with rotisserie roasted chili-rubbed pork, cilantro, onion, fresh cut pineapple and salsa verde, to the unique Korean Pork Bo Ssam Tacos, with braised pork, cilantro, avocado, ssamjang, shaved radish in a fresh-pressed corn tortilla, or the Green Curry Shrimp Tacos, with grilled shrimp, thai basil, mint, green curry, and cilantro in a warm flour tortilla.

The menu also features burritos, fresh salads, and bowls, like the Chicken Tikka-Masala Bowl, with shredded tikka masala chicken over a bed of basmati rice, pickled onion, mushroom, tomato, and cilantro, or the Slow Braised Pork Shoulder Rice Bowl, with avocado, sweet onion, shaved radish, cilantro, serrano peppers and salsa verde.

Pure Taco will also offer Baja-inspired breakfasts, served all day, as well as a variety of signature cocktails, beer, and wine.

See you there!

Located in the State Street Commons in the heart of Carlsbad Village, and situated across from Campfire Restaurant, Pure Taco is a light and airy space, filled with a vibrant mixture of retro and contemporary art. Wooden fixtures and woven hanging lamp shades bring in a feeling of warmth, and the central bar seamlessly connects the interior space to the patio.

Pure Taco is located at 2742 State Street Suite 102, Carlsbad, CA 92008, and is open Sunday through Thursday from 11AM to 9PM and Friday and Saturday from 11AM to 10PM.

See you there, San Diego!
