Rock N’ Roll Camp For Girls San Diego Presents GXRLS ROCK! SAN DIEGO: VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP

Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego, a nonprofit organization that brings the community together to empower girls and non-binary youth through music, will host camp virtually this year with two week-long sessions, one for campers ages 8-11 and one for campers 12-17.

A dynamic, interactive online day camp

Gxrls Rock! San Diego is a dynamic, interactive online day camp in which campers form bands, learn the fundamentals of music production, write an original song, and rock live via a virtual Camper Showcase! No prior music experience is necessary to participate.

Campers will meet daily from 10AM to 1PM on Zoom and Soundtrap, a free music production program, and work in collaboration with band coaches to create their own songs. Camp will include daily production and recording instruction on Soundtrap, as well as workshops on Songwriting, Band Logo Design, Vocals, Percussion, and more!

Each camper will receive their own ukulele for daily strumming, as well as drum sticks, a songwriting journal, and other fun camp swag. Camp will culminate in a virtual Camper Showcase on Zoom, in which all bands will be invited to share their musical creations.

“We know this has been an extraordinarily tough year for our youth,” explains founder and Executive Director, Melissa Grove. “We are really looking forward to helping our campers have fun and express themselves! We’re also excited to dig deeper into music production, which is one of the perks of being virtual again this summer. Studies show that only 2.1% of music producers are female and we’re looking to change that!”
