San Diego Restaurants Opening For Dine-In Service

Yes, things will be a little different for the foreseeable future, but our amazing restaurants are making a comeback, offering dine-in service with safety top of mind.

Hopefully, this list will be outdated the second we publish it because so many restaurants are re-opened and safely doing business again soon!

In the meantime, here are San Diego restaurants opening for dine-in service as they are being reported to us:

Charles and Dinorah

Charles and Dinorah at The Pearl Hotel has reopened for dine-in and takeout. The restaurant unveils a design refresh as part of The Pearl’s recently completed renovation. Hours is at 4:00-10:00pm, Monday to Saturday and Happy Hour at 4:00-6:00pm (including Saturdays, which is new) – select $8 small plates, $8 cocktails, $6 wines, $4 beer

Highlights of the new summer menu include Grilled Octopus with charred habanero vinaigrette, orange, fennel, endive, and chorizo and Breaded Eggplant Tikka Masala with coconut yogurt and fresh herbs, alongside signature dishes like The Pearl Burger with Sadie rose pretzel bun, smoked American cheddar and house made fries.

Break Point

Situated along Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach, Break Point has officially reopened its doors to the public. The expansive entertainment destination is back with a full food and drink menu, four bowling lanes, and a vibrant aesthetic. From shared plates to entrees, guests can indulge in a range of menu favorites including the Candy Apple Salad, Carne Asada Tacos,
and the signature Chicken Bites—which feature tender pieces of chicken dusted in seasoned flour and tossed in sweet and spicy house sauce, and are served alongside pickled veggies and blistered shishitos. Drink selections include a medley of beer, wine and specialty cocktails, including the Lucky Strike, Aperol Split and the Spare Collins –a bright fusion of Empress Gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon, cucumber and mint!

Social distancing guidelines are in place for guests to enjoy a comfortable dining experience. Bowling lanes can be reserved and have been modified to reflect and adhere to current safety regulations.

The Smoking Gun

The downtown is welcoming guests back to the dining room! The downtown spot will be open daily at 3 p.m. or dine-in services, on a first come first serve seating basis. Face masks are required at all times, except when eating.

The Fish Shop

A local favorite, The Fish Shop will reopen two of its locations for dine-in beginning this week. The Encinitas location will reopened on Tuesday, June 9th and the Pacific Beach location is scheduled to open its doors Wednesday, June 10th.

Fans of the popular seafood destination can snack on menu favorites such as the Spicy Dorado Taco and the award winning TKO Taco, which features grilled Mahi Mahi, shredded cabbage, mixed cheese, house cilantro white sauce, and tropical salsa on a flour or corn tortilla. Both locations will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.

Fig Tree Café

Fig Tree Café’s location in Pacific Beach has officially reopened for onsite dining Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy beloved Fig Tree specialties including Breakfast Sushi – made with three thick bacon rolls (baked with brown sugar and paprika), enveloping rice and scrambled eggs, all drizzled with plum sauce – as well as sweet morning treats such as Fig Jam & Ricotta Cheese Stuffed French Toast. Equipped with an expansive patio, this is the perfect destination for diners seeking outdoor social distancing.

Breakfast Company North Park

Breakfast Company North Park will reopen for dine-in service tomorrow (June 12th), and will be open Monday and Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Thursday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dig into a plate of Banana Bread Pancakes smothered in cream cheese glaze, and sprinkled with candied walnuts atop sliced bananas and a drizzle of maple syrup, or savor their Fried Rice Benedict – with crispy ham, sambal hollandaise, pickled radish salad and two poached eggs, served with house potatoes. Fully prepared to accommodate patrons in a safe and socially distanced capacity, Breakfast Company North park is excited to welcome back the foodie community!

North Italia

North Italia is now open at One Paseo and Fashion Valley!

Ranch 45

Solana Beach’s Ranch 45 began welcoming patrons back for dine-in service on May 21st. The butcher and restaurant opened it’s patio for sit-down service, while the indoor dining room will remain open in a market capacity, supplying locals with fresh meat and seafood, as well as grocery essentials, craft beer and wine, and local artisan provisions.

In addition to the patio seating, Ranch 45’s private dining room, which can accommodate groups up to 10 people, is also now available for reservations. In order to safely welcome guests back to the restaurant, Ranch 45 has implemented countless safety measures, including a maximum of 3 guests inside the indoor market at a time, large groups being required to arrive and leave together, and all food being served in to-go containers.

In addition to the new dine-in options, Ranch 45 will continue to offer takeout and delivery. Ranch 45 is open for both dine-in and takeout from 8:00am to 4:00pm Sunday through Thursday, and 8:00am to 8:30pm Friday and Saturday.

The Taco Stand

The Taco Stand’s four locations around San Diego have officially re-opened for onsite dining! Head to one of their outposts in La Jolla, Encinitas, Downtown or North Park to get your fill, and whether you decide to dine in, takeout or order online for delivery, be sure to treat yourself to one of their popular specialties. Their full menu is available, including favorite such as their Al Pastor stuffed with rotisserie-marinated pork, cilantro, onions, cilantro sauce and pineapple, and their unique vegetarian creation, the Nopal Taco, comprised of cactus, melted cheese, cilantro sauce, tomato and avocado.

AleSmith Brewing Company

AleSmith Brewing Company has reopened their tasting room and invites San Diego’s beer-lovers to grab a cold one and partake in some prime social distancing in their expansive space. Sip and savor comfortably with your group as you gorge on bites from local food trucks, which will rotate regularly onsite. The tasting room is open Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 9:00PM, Friday and Saturday from noon to 9:00PM, and Sunday from noon to 5:00PM.

619 Spirits

North Park distillery and tasting room 619 Spirits will begin dine-in service on May 22 at 3pm. There will be indoor and outdoor seating on the dog-friendly patio at limited capacity. Offering lunch, dinner, along with a weekend brunch, guests will find a more elevated bar menu along with 619 signature cocktails and a selection of local San Diego craft spirits. New menu items include wings, flatbreads, and sandwiches, as well as new cocktails and $7 619 Vodka Slushies. The tasting room will continue to offer $19 bottles of 619 Vodka to-go (limit 3 per person).

Rusticucina

Farm-to-neighborhood eatery, Rusticucina, located on Park Boulevard in Hillcrest, is now welcoming dine-in customers from 4:00pm-8:30pm. Beginning Monday, May 25th, the restaurant’s hours are 12:00pm-9:30pm Monday through Saturday, and Sundays from 9:00am-3:00pm, with brunch beginning at 9:00am, and dinner service starting at 3:00pm.

The restaurant have both indoor and outdoor patio seating at limited capacity available for dine-in, and will be continuing to offer takeout and delivery. Executive chef Marco Provino’s menu features crafted rustic cuisine, pizzas, flatbreads and in-house pasta and desserts, along with cocktails, beer and wine. Excited to reintroduce themselves to the community, the eatery has implemented countless safety measures in compliance with CDC guidelines.

The Original 40 Brewing Company

North Park dwellers can rejoice in the full re-opening of The Original 40 Brewing Company! Now offering onsite dining plus plenty of space to social distance, the beloved neighborhood brewery and dining destination features unique brews accompanied by prime bites such as their OG Burger packed with lettuce, red onion, tomato, white cheddar cheese and garlic aioli on a baguette bun, as well as their coveted Baby Back Adobo Ribs and House-Cut Fries. Not to mention, Original 40 now sells their very own hand-sanitizer – be sure to snag one while you’re there! Hours are Monday from noon to 7:30PM, Tuesday through Friday from 2:30 to 7:30PM, and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9:00PM.

Ortega’s

Located in the heart of Hillcrest, Ortega’s is open for dine-in services. The Mexican bistro features brunch, lunch, dinner and happy hour options, with signature menu items including Shrimp Enchiladas, Puerto Nuevo Lobster, and a medley of Hand Crafted Margaritas. Ortega’s has served authentic Puerto Nuevo cuisine for over 15 years, and has recently undergone a remodeling for guests to enjoy.

Monday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Friday, 11:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
Sunday, 9:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.

Barbusa

Little Italy Hotspot Barbusa will be offering takeout starting Tuesday, May 26th, before ramping up for reopening on Monday, June 1st. Takeout will be offered daily from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with a limited menu of Barbusa’s favorites, including Lollipop Chops, Barbusa’s famous Garlic Bread, their California Pizza, Carbonara, and Bolognese Al Forno, available for takeout and curbside pickup.

A selection of to-go cocktails in individual, 16oz, and 32oz sizes, as well as beer and wine will also be available for takeout. Then, on June 1, Barbusa will welcome guests back into the restaurant for a dine-in dinner service. Available from 4:00pm to close, Barbusa’s dine in service will include their full menu. Once dine-in service resumes, the full dinner menu will also be available for takeout and curbside pickup. Due to limited capacity to observe social distancing, reservations are highly recommended.

All City Tacos Locations Open For Dine-In

City Tacos

City Tacos has officially reopened its doors for dine-in services. All six locations will be open daily, from 12:00pm – 8:00pm. Guests can reunite with signature taco selections such as the Pescado or the Mexicali, plus a few new menu items including the Tlacoyo, which features blue corn masa filled with fresh herbs, mashed potatoes, and choice of protein.

Madison on Park

Local neighborhood lounge and eatery, Madison on Park, opened for dine-in service starting on Wednesday, May 27th. Dine-in is reservation only with both indoor and outdoor seating at limited capacity. The restaurant has implemented countless safety measures in compliance with CDC guidelines including keeping all tables 6ft apart, taking temperatures at the door, face masks required upon entry, no groups larger than 5 people, and sanitized waterproof menus. Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern 

Jimmy’s is reopened with dine-in service and continued take-out/delivery beginning on Wednesday, May 27th, with hours from 11:00am – 8:00pm. The restaurant has expanded its outdoor dining footprint with increased seating near the harbor along Point Loma Marina and in the adjacent green space for additional water views. James Beard-nominated culinary director Nathan Coulon is rolling out a larger menu to include new dishes along with classic Jimmy’s favs.

Casa de Pico and Casa de Bandini

Two of Diane Powers’ iconic Mexican restaurants are reopening for dine-in on May 27 – Casa de Pico in La Mesa’s Grossmont Center and Casa de Bandini in The Forum Carlsbad.

Farmer’s Bottega

Farmer’s Bottega in Mission Hills has reopened its doors for full onsite dining, including the option to enjoy their farm-to-fork menu out on their charming outdoor patio. Brunch is offered daily from 8:00AM to 2:00PM, followed by dinner available from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. The menu includes all Farmer’s Bottega favorites including a plethora of French toast options as well as their crave-worthy Italian creations. |

Two Diane Powers Restaurants Are Opening For Dine-In

Both restaurants will open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and following all required physical distancing and sanitary guidelines to ensure the health and safety of customers, staff and the community. In-restaurant seating, for example, will be prioritized on both restaurants’ spacious outdoor patios.

Each restaurant will also offer unique, limited menus featuring some of their most popular dishes for dine-in and takeout. Favorites include Tequila Lime Shrimp, Carne Asada Tampiqueña, and of course, margaritas!

The University Heights steakhouse is reopening this Thursday, May 28, with dinner served from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Closed on Tuesdays.

Cardellino

The all-day bakery and cafe in Mission Hills will resume daytime hours on Friday, May 29 and will offer counter service with patio seating only from 8:00AM to 2:00PM. Closed on Mondays. The indoor space of the Italian-American restaurant, which celebrated its grand opening earlier this year, will open on Friday, June, 5 with nightly dinner service from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Closed Mondays. Mr. Trustee is open Monday-Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday-Sunday.

Monello and Bencotto

Little Italy’s Monello and Bencotto have announced that both locations will reopen daily for dine-in on Friday, May 29.

Monello and Bencotto will reopen for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Lunch is available Monday through Friday, starting at noon at both restaurants. Brunch will be available at both locations Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Aperitivo will be available at both Bencotto and Monello daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aperitivo will be temporarily available throughout the restaurant’s dining areas as bar seating will be temporarily unavailable.

Monello’s famous cheese wheel pasta will not be served tableside, but will be prepared behind large plexiglass so that it is still viewable by guests!

Take-out and delivery will be available online only – phone orders will not be available. Reservations are highly recommended.

Puesto 

Locally-owned Mexican Artisan Kitchen, Puesto, began welcoming guests back into their San Diego and Orange County dining rooms last week, and will have all of their SoCal eateries open for dine-in beginning on May 29th. In order to safely begin reopening, Puesto implemented countless precautionary measures, including temperature checks for both staff and guests, physical distancing, cashless payment, single use menus, and a mask policy.

In addition to these changes, Puesto had increased cleanliness and sanitation practices and taken advantage of their open-air spaces to position tables near windows, doors, or the patio. While the dining-room looks different now, Puesto’s hope is that their commitment to health and safety will allow guests feel safe and comfortable as they return to dine-in. To complement dine-in offerings, Puesto will continue to offer its full food menu for takeout, as well as selection of to-go cocktails.

The Duck Dive

has officially reopened its doors for dine-in services. The beachside eatery is offering full food and drink menus for dine-in guests. Reservations are strongly encouraged, and masks are required but may be removed while dining. Hours are Monday – Friday 10 AM – 10 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9 AM – 10 PM

barleymash

barleymash has officially reopened for dine-in at noon daily! Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis – no reservations. Come take a bite out of one of Chef Kevin’s mouth-watering burgers or decadent barleymacs!

Civico 1845

Dario and Pietro Gallo opened the doors to their Civico 1845 on India Street on Thursday, May 28th beginning with dinner only through Sunday, May 31st and then will add lunch service starting June 1st. Beginning on the 28th, additional seating for Civico will be included on the outdoor Piazza overlooking the Bay every Thursday – Sunday evening for dinner service. On Saturday, June 13th, the Little Italy Association will host their first “Al Fresco” event, shutting down India Street to allow restaurants to incorporate outdoor seating. On Al Fresco evenings, Civico will add additional bar seating outdoors.

Pho Ca Dao Vietnamese Kitchen

Pho Ca Dao Vietnamese Kitchen will begin welcoming dine-in customers on June 1st, open for lunch and dinner Monday through Sunday from 11:00am to 10:00pm, while continuing to keep a strong emphasis on takeout and their recently launched catering business. The restaurant, which pivoted to a takeout and delivery format following stay at home orders, was scheduled to have its grand opening in late March.

San Diego County’s seven other Pho Ca Dao locations, which are all owned and operated by the Huynh Family, will also reopen their locations for dine-in. Mira Mesa, Poway and Rancho Bernardo will reopen on June 1 with additional outdoor patio seating, while Santee, East County and Chula Vista will open shortly thereafter.

Ballast Point Brewing Company

Brewers of award-winning Sculpin, Ballast Point will reopen its tasting rooms in Miramar
and Little Italy on Monday, June 1st with locally-sourced, refined bar fare and a wide selection of mainstay and experimental beers on tap. Both locations feature indoor and outdoor patio seating and will be open for to-go as well. Home Brew Mart will continue to operate to-go. Draft to go in growlers, crowlers and 5gl kegs will remain discounted at 50% at all locations!

Crack Shack

Your shack is all shook up. Whether you’re ready to fly the coop or continuing to quarantine, The Crack Shack is introducing all new contact-free ways to get your chicken & eggs. If you’re feeling coop’ed up, the restaurant is safely opening select doors on June 1st – Little Italy, Encinitas and Costa Mesa only, for now. Other locations are on standby.

If you’re not quite ready to put real pants on quite yet, that’s cool, too. The coops just got a facelift with all new systems & processes for you to safely order and retrieve your favorite cluck.

Mister A’s 

Celebrating 55 years on the 12th floor as one of the city’s most timeless icons, Mister A’s re-opens for dine-in service Monday, June 1st for lunch Monday – Friday, nightly for dinner and for Sunday brunch. Mister A’s will provide extended patio service which offer panoramic, breathtaking views of the San Diego skyline.

Lionfish

Clique Hospitality is excited to announce the reopening of their premier dining destination, Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine at Pendry San Diego, with James Beard Smart Catch Leader Chef Jose “JoJo” Ruiz reopening its doors for service on Tuesday, June 2. Lionfish will be open for dine-in, offering happy hour and dinner menus with take-out for curbside pick-up and delivery with the same selections as their dine-in menu.

Mille Fleurs

Tucked away in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe, Mille Fleurs will reopen its doors on Tuesday,
June 2nd as a neighborhood brasserie with a continued focus on French-Californian fare. Dine-in and patio service for dinner Tuesday – Sunday, lunch on Fridays only and weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Trust

TRG’s flagship Trust Restaurant in Hillcrest is reopening with brunch this weekend from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and is restarting dinner service on Wednesday, June 3rd. The restaurant will offer dinner from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. Closed on Mondays.

Fort Oak

Fort Oak

Fort Oak in Mission Hills is reopening on Wednesday, June 3rd. Dinner will be served from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. Closed on Tuesdays. Reservations are required for each restaurant and guests are encouraged to review the health and safety protocols and menus on each restaurant’s website in advance of their visit.

Peyton Carruth Cellars

San Diego’s largest urban winery opened all three of its locations (Little Italy, Solana Beach, Carlsbad) this week with abbreviated hours Mon-Sat 3-7pm and Sun 2-6pm. During the pandemic, Carruth pivoted and added an e-commerce channel to accommodate bottle sales in the absence of tasting room traffic and sales.

Cloak & Petal – Opens June 8th

Little Italy’s Cloak & Petal is evolving its “hanami” concept fellowship and connection to accommodate social distancing within their roomy space, while ensuring that groups are still able to enjoy the company of their loved ones. The dining room will re-open on June 8th, complete with a rollout of new menu offerings, plus signature cocktail favorites!
