Non-Profit Restaurant Tacos Libertad Hits $100K Donation Milestone

The Cohn Restaurant Group’s non-profit taco shop, Tacos Libertad, has officially donated over $100,000 to charity since opening their doors in 2017.

How cool is that?!

Located in the heart of Hillcrest, Tacos Libertad is celebrated not only for its unique menu of classic and fusion tacos, but for its impact on dozens of communities within San Diego. Each month, the team selects a different charitable beneficiary to donate 100% of their profits. Previous organizations include Meals on Wheels and Rady Children’s Hospital, to name a few. “We’re thrilled to have surpassed $100,000 in donations and excited to build upon the momentum,” says Lesley Cohn. “Both David [Cohn] and I grew up in philanthropic families and their generosity to those in need has always been an inspiration to us. Both our children and grandchildren volunteer in the community as they have been taught that giving is more rewarding than receiving.”

In October, all of Tacos Libertad’s proceeds will be donated to The League of Extraordinary Scientists & Engineers, a non-profit that engages pre-k through 8th-grade students with hands-on curriculum promoting the language and concepts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in an effort to lay the foundation for a more science-literate society.

Thanks to the Cohn Restaurant Group for giving back to our community!
