Tahona’s New Weekend Brunch Menu

As of this month, San Diego’s new mezcal bar and restaurant, Tahona, in Old Town now serves weekend brunch. Offered Saturdays and Sundays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Tahona’s brunch celebrates breakfast staples yet offers a Mexican/Oaxacan twist on many favorite dishes.

A sampling from Tahona’s brunch menu includes:

Chilaquiles with tesajo: Traditional Oaxacan style dried meat

Frenchican toast: Classic French toast with a Mexican twist

Breakfast Sopes: Twist on eggs benedict with a sopes style thick corn tortilla bottom

Guacamole avocado toast: A guacamole twist on popular avocado toast

With the arrival of brunch comes new brunch cocktails including:

Bloody Mayahuel: A Bloody Mary served with mezcal and named after the goddess of agave, and mimosas

Micheladas: Served with fresh squeezed orange juice and other exotic fruit juices.
