Take Your Nightlife To A Whole New Level With The Hive On Convoy Street

Hive, a brand new soon-to-be-very-hot spot in Kearny Mesa, is taking the nightlife options on Convoy to a new level!

The new spot is quite the ‘adulting’ playground, packing an assortment of entertainment options into an 8,000 square foot space (soon to be expanded!). From dining and drinking to karaoke and playing arcade games, Hive provides an entire evening of fun under one roof.

Our kind of spot.

Kick off your night with a drink at Hive’s beautiful, huge “360” island bar. With 50 seats and the expertise of bartender Jay Choi, you’ll be well taken care of. Choose from one of 50 taps featuring an assortment of local craft beers, wines from California and Baja and seasonal cocktails.

If you’re unsure which mixed drink best fits your mood, take a peek at their handy guide, which ranks each drink on a scale of one to four based on bitterness, booziness, sweetness and “citrusy.”

For those of you that take your drinks seriously, Hive has an extensive list of premium spirits, and even has its own barrel-aged cocktail program!

When you’re ready for some eats, you’ll find a delicious dinner menu from executive chef Q Yoo’s incredible menu in the 300-seat dining room. Some of the dishes have an Korean spin such as kimchi fried rice and Hive nachos, which are topped with bulgogi (marinated beef). Other menu items include burgers, pastas and salads.

They also have a sweet happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. (and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.) complete with specials on fried calamari, vegetable fried rice, cucumber salad and more.

Love you some oysters? Stop by on Thursday, Friday or Saturday night to try the $1 oyster bar.

And don’t miss the “secret” menu with even more delicious treats, like spicy rice cakes and sweet and sour chicken. With an eclectic menu like this, everyone will find something to curb their hunger pangs.

After you’re loaded up on the bites, continue the party in one of Hive’s 14 private karaoke rooms that range in size to hold from six to 40 people. Rooms are rented by the hour and can be reserved ahead of time with a credit card. Of course, karaoke only gets better when mixed with alcohol so don’t forget to take advantage of their bottle service to really get the party started!

Owner Scott Na expanded the existing Chorus Karaoke & Bar by taking over the adjacent building. BA moves you got there, Scott!

If karaoke isn’t your thing, you can check out the new arcade that features both classic and modern games or see what’s playing on one of four 150 inch TVs.

And the Hive isn’t stopping there. Eventually, the space will also feature a 3,000 square foot nightclub with state-of-the-art sound that will double as a huge karaoke room for parties of up to 100 people.

Plan your next big night out at Hive; well see you there!

Hive is located at 4428 Convoy St, Ste 100, San Diego. Call (858) 576-0700 or visit hivesd.com for more information.
