Botanica Bar Valentine cocktail

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, North Park’s new cocktail hotspot, Botanica, will offer a prix fixe dining option with two-hour seatings available between 5PM and 9:30PM. Priced at $75 per person, the menu begins with a soup course followed by an elevated omakase of six unique bites such as oyster tartare, spiced carrot tartlets and spicy tuna crispy rice.

Guests will then move on to an intermezzo course featuring a chocolate truffle pairing in collaboration with
Maya Moon followed by dessert. Guests will also enjoy two Valentine-inspired cocktails as part of their reservation, and Botanica will offer live Lo-fi jazz between 6PM and 10PM. Those with dietary restrictions are invited to note this when making their reservation, available via Resy.

Walk-in guests will be welcomed throughout the evening at Botanica’s bar area, with the full cocktail menu and a selection of Botanica’s regular food menu available à la carte, including house favorites like salmon served three ways (cured, smoked and raw) and the trumpet musubi with pickled cabbage and sriracha aioli. For Valentine’s Day, Tahona in Old Town will offer a special four-course prix fixe dinner from longtime Executive Chef Adrian Villareal to include Beef and Broccolini Sope with a light chilemeco bernaise and crunchy nopal; Smoked Hamachi Pescarias (empanadas) with two types of maise, escabeche, and meyer lemon and black garlic aioli; Clod de Chateau Beef, mole de olla, chayote and chochoyones (masa dumplings); and a surprise dessert course.

LAVO Italian Restaurant San Diego, located in the heart of the Gaslamp, will be offering an a la carte menu with specialty dishes created for the evening by the culinary team. Executive Chef Fabian Aceves has prepared a special prix fixe menu, including a trio of appetizers (oysters/calamansi mignonette, pani puri/ chickpeas & blini/caviar), California Kohuko crab arancini (with serrano butter sauce, savoy cabbage, meyer lemon aioli, tangerine, parsnip salad), hamachi crudo (with lilikoi leche de tigre, salsa criolla, aji amarillo, crispy corn kernels), baked lobster (with lemon mascarpone, whole grain mustard, choy sum cabbage, champagne butter sauce, charred lemon), and seared filet mignon au poivre (with grilled asparagus, smoked potato puree, roasted cippolini). Dinner will be followed by a selection of delectable housemade desserts from La Valencia’s Executive Pastry Chef.

Nothing says “you’re my everything” like heart-shaped everything bagels from Spill the Beans! Stop by their Gaslamp or Seaport Village location to grab one for you and your sweetie. Enjoying bagels and coffee together in the morning—what a lovely way to start your Valentine’s Day! They will also be serving the ‘Pizza-My Heart’ pizza-flavored bagel, with sun-dried tomato cream cheese all month long.

SEA180° Coastal Tavern, located inside the Pier South Resort in Imperial Beach, will ignite romance with a three-course prix fixe meal, available from 4PM to 9PM.

The seaside dinner will begin with an amuse bouche, smoked deviled egg with black tobiko caviar, along with a choice of salmon tartare, octopus with fresh kimchi and blistered shishito peppers or crab toast for the first course. The entrée selections will include California halibut served with little neck clam risotto; short rib pappardelle; Australian lamb rack; acorn squash stuffed with Humboldt Fog goat cheese; and more. Sweethearts may then choose from an array of desserts including passion fruit Napoleon, chocolate Pavlova and New York cheesecake.

There will be a variety of themed, handcrafted cocktails available, including Chocolate Bliss, made with Grey Goose vodka, Crème de Cacao White, Baileys Irish cream and cocoa powder; Bloodlust, a combination of El Tessoro tequila, triple sec, blood orange purée, lime juice and simple syrup; and others in addition to a curated selection of sparking, white and red wines.

Bleu Bohème Valentine's Day With Three-Course, Candlelit Dinner

Bleu Bohème, located in Kensington, is regularly named one of the most romantic restaurants in San Diego. The date spot will celebrate with a three-course prix fixe menu, available from 4PM to 8PM.

The meal will start with a choice of appetizer including wild mushroom soup with parmesan and fresh herb croustade; crab croquettes with jicama remoulade; salmon tartare; and more. Entrée selections include Faroe Island salmon with roasted Japanese potatoes, butternut squash, cauliflower and sorrel beurre blanc; petit filet mignon with roasted garlic mashed potatoes; and others. To end on a sweet note, guests can choose from crème brûlée, flourless chocolate cake, warm brioche bread pudding and more decadent desserts.

The Valentine’s Day dinner is priced at $89 per person and reservations may be made here.

Along with dinner, a specialty cocktail will be served. The Martini d’Amour, which translates to “the love martini,” will be available for $15. The sucré cocktail will be made with Flor de Cana rum, Grand Marnier, Fonseca #27 port and fresh lime juice.

The Smoking Gun

Get “lei’d” at The Smoking Gun’s second annual Valentine’s Day Luau! Visit anytime from 3PM to 2AM to order Hawaiian-inspired dishes like the Kalua Pork Sandwich with kalua pork, red chile slaw, grilled pineapple, and your choice of fries, tots, chips, or macaroni salad. Finish the night with a Pineapple Upside Down Cake with caramelized pineapple, maraschino cherry, shaved coconut, and whipped cream!

Glass Box

This Valentine’s Day, treat yourself and your loved one to a five-course meal at Glass Box located in Del Mar Highlands Town Center’s Sky Deck!

Explore their specialty menu featuring dishes with exquisite flavor pairings such as the Hamachi Crudo with strawberry fig jam, buddha hand zest, and candy quinoa; Spicy Pork Belly Soup with tofu, red miso, green onions, and seaweed; Grilled Octopus with a coconut curry sauce; and the Lamb Chops with a homemade hollandaise sauce and miso mille-feuille potato. For those looking to leave the house, enjoy a three course meal with the highest quality, locally and regionally sourced ingredients for $135 per person, with an optional wine pairing for an additional $55 per person.

Choose from first course offerings of Seared Diver Scallops with melted leeks and truffle sauce or Seared Dry Age Ribeye with caviar, truffle aioli and sourdough, followed by an Endive Salad with shaved Chino Farms beets, goat cheese and truffle vinaigrette.

Entree offerings include a Bone in Brandt Beef Ribeye for Two served with Chino Farms vegetables, roast fingerling potatoes, bearnaise and red wine sauce, with the option to add Lobster Tail, Pan Roasted Ocean Trout made with beluga lentils and tahini vinaigrette, or Brandt Beef Filet Mignon with Chino Farms vegetables, fondant potatoes and crab bearnaise.

At $49 a person, their three-course menu includes a wide variety of options for everyone including Burrata Vegetariana with grilled zucchini and eggplant, Beef Tartare, Heart Shaped Ravioli, filled with spinach and cheese in butter sage sauce, and Limoncello Cake for dessert. There will also be a small menu a la carte for the evening.

Smokey & the Brisket

Get ready to fall in love with BBQ this Valentine’s Day! On Saturday, February 12, and Sunday, February 13, Smokey & the Brisket is serving their Lovebirds Weekend Special. For $45 per person, lovers dining in can enjoy a ½ rack of pork spareribs, ½ smoked bone-in chicken, ½ prime brisket, a side of mashed potatoes, a side of cowboy caviar, and a bottle of Kinderwood Merlot for the table!

Another venture from Grind & Prosper will host a night full of love and tasty food in Downtown Oceanside: Q&A Restaurant and Oyster Bar!

At $90 per person, guests will enjoy a four course meal including a Buffalo Blue Cheese Oyster on Half Shell upon arrival, Truffle Caesar Salad, Crab Cake with Tasso Butter Cream Sauce, a choice between Bone Marrow Butter Ribeye or Black Red Fish and Grits, and Bread Pudding with Bourbon Cream Sauce.
