Wynston’s Ice Cream Graduates To A Bigger Location At North City Just In Time For Prime Ice Cream Season

Wynston’s Ice Cream is not new to the San Diego ice cream scene, but this new, much larger storefront marks a significant milestone for the North American Ice Cream Association National Blue Ribbon winner.

The “entrepreneurial incubator” graduate

At the beginning, Chris and Sarah Wynn were passionate about their business concept but as new business owners, they had difficulty securing the right retail space. But the Union Cowork location at North City had a solution. They offered to provide a space for these enthusiastic entrepreneurs. Union Cowork carved out a small space in their lobby that they referred to as the “entrepreneurial incubator” and gave the Wynns an opportunity to prove their business acumen and product viability.

Wynston’s was an immediate neighborhood favorite, not only because of their exceptional product but also because they supported local schools, community organizations, and sports clubs. But success truly gained momentum with the announcement of their win for Best Chocolate Ice Cream from the North American Ice Cream Association and the resulting support from the San Diego area.

The Wynns celebrated National Ice Cream Day in style on July 17th as they opened their official Flagship Store and graduated from the incubator opportunity to a full-size ice cream churning facility where they can truly deliver the award-winning frozen treats for which they are known.

Chris Wynn, Co-Founder states, “We knew we had an incredible product and are so grateful to North City and to Union Cowork, for the opportunity for us to show what we could do. Now, we encourage the next up and coming entrepreneur to step into our previous space as we graduate to the next phase. We hope you come and see what you, the community, have made possible. Come see the beginning of our dreams coming true.”

“We could not be prouder of this company and this team at Wynston’s Ice Cream,” says Darren Levitt, Vice President of Sea Breeze Properties, LLC, developers of North City. “To see the growth that they’ve experienced is truly magical and we are excited to continue to fill North City with exceptional merchants of the highest quality.” He continues, “If you are an up-and-comer and need a space to show us what you’ve got, well, you’ve got big shoes to fill, but we are ready for you!”

Wynston’s is located at 250 North City Drive, Suite 7. Regular store hours are be 12PM–10PM daily.
