Your Guide To This Week’s North County Concerts
Local music is barring its teeth in North County. Even at the San Diego County Fair, we have one of our own headlining. If you’re looking for something exotic, there is a PDX band over at Pour House. But, otherwise, it’s looking very San Diego from here.
Shane Hall & Sarah Rogo – 6/23
Shane Hall has been playing the blues around San Diego for a long while. You’ve seen him at Pour House, House of Blues and more. Now is your chance to see him get down at Stag & Lion with the lovely Sarah Rogo.
Speaking of Sarah Rogo, her slide and finger-style guitar has been making waves around San Diego’s seaside communities. You should probably hear for yourself. We’ll see you at the Stag.
Sam Bybee – 6/23
Home-grown San Diegan Sam Bybee started playing music when he was just 8 years old. Never looking back, Bybee has been a full-time musician since age 20.
With 5 albums written and recorded as a solo artist and with 22 Kings, Bybee is no stranger to crafting enjoyable tunes. Come hear for yourself at the San Diego County Fair.
The CRY! – 6/24
A five-piece power-pop group from Portland, The CRY! combine ‘50s style vocal harmonies, ‘60s pop hooks and ‘70s glam-rock to bring old aesthetics into a new era. This updated fusion of styles has a raw, punk-edge courtesy of Portland’s street scene.
The CRY!’s motto is “Never Suck,” and, thus far, they definitely never have.
