Aloe Blacc – 6/3
San Diego County Fair
Del Mar
The San Diego County Fair always has excellent musicians and performers pass through its stages. This year is no exception.
After seeing mainstream success with “Wake Me Up,” the 2013 song he sang and co-wrote for Swedish DJ Avicii, Aloe Blacc decided to try his hand at penning some of his own tunes. Thankfully for us, he released the product to the public.
The rapper-turned-singer fuses folk, soul and pop to create insightful songs about love, life and everything in between. If you’re looking for soulful hip hop, Blacc’s the ticket.
Michael Franti & Spearhead – 6/4
The Belly Up
Solana Beach
Michael Franti & Spearhead are as eclectic as it comes. Mixing hip hop with styles such as funk, reggae, jazz, folk and rock, the group manages to make catchy songs while being socially conscious in both their music and personal lives.
Watch Michael Franti & Spearhead turn The Belly Up into a dance hall this Sunday.
