We are always looking to try out the best cocktails and happy hour specials in different neighborhoods around San Diego. This week we moved away from the beach cities, and into University Heights to try out one of their newest additions to the neighborhood, Hundred Proof!

Only a week into business, Hundred Proof is quick to receive fantastic reviews! Offering a chic, relaxed, yet classy ambiance, this spot sets the perfect mood for a an intimate date night or a fun, social evening with friends.

While its decor paints the ambiance for the evening, the food and the cocktails are absolutely outstanding.

From the culinary genius behind Belmont Park’s Draft, Cannonball, and Tower 23’s JRDN, Executive Chef, Brad Wise, has truly succeeded in creating a new age, unique, hip restaurant that offers must-have items like Truffle Mac N Cheese to Boozy Milkshakes.

If that isn’t convincing enough… we don’t know what is!

The Deal:

Happy Hour at San Diego’s chicest boilermaker bar goes from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and includes: $7 cocktails, $6 house red/white/rose, $5 draft beer, and $3 off food!

Why we love it:

Two words… Horchata Milkshake. While we don’t indulge in milkshakes often, Hundred Proof is the hands-down best spot to get your buzz on and satisfy your sweet tooth. Beyond the awesome vibe, Hundred Proof offers an innovative menu with a unique twist on some of our favorite dishes and cuisines.

And, just the way we like it – there is truly something for everyone at this one of a kind Happy Hour spot. Between their signature boozy milkshakes and the award-winning Hundred Proof burger, this Happy Hour experience has made its way to the top of our list.

Oh, and if you’re looking for a new place to brunch on the weekends, their brunch menu is absolutely insane!
