A Yummy Note From Puffer Malarkey Collective

As we look to the future, we from Puffer Malarkey Collective find ourselves asking, “What do restaurants mean to us, now?” And honestly, our answer remains the same as the day we opened: we’re here to bring people together, foster connections, and build a community. And we can still do that, it’s just going to look a bit different than we originally intended.

So, here’s our plan for the foreseeable future:

Herb & Wood

Herb & Wood at Home: Our takeaway menu offers wood-fired, California-inspired hits from our daily menu that can be enjoyed in the comfort of your home. Touchless takeout and delivery will be available Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Visit our website for curbside pickup and delivery options.

Herb & Wood Patio Seating:  Our open-air courtyard will be open for dine-in starting Wednesday, July 8! As seating will be limited to 65 diners at a time, reservations will be required. Once seated, guests can enjoy Chef Malarkey’s rustic, wood-fired menu al fresco, surrounded by lush greenery, well-appointed accents, and a roaring two-sided fireplace.

LAUNCHING JULY 22 – Herb & Wood’s Secret Garden Supper Club: Our patio will transform into an exclusive supper-club style eatery five nights a week, inviting patrons to celebrate any occasion with a four-course, pre-fixe menu crafted by Chef Malarkey and his venerable kitchen crew. A truly sublime experience, reservations will be required, and seating will be limited. Carefully curated wines and well-paired cocktails will also be available. Menus and reservations are available on our website.

Herb & Eatery

Herb & Eatery Takeout: Our beloved eatery is re-opening for takeaway service starting Wednesday, July 15! We’ll be serving up our iconic sandwiches, pizzas and salads, alongside a selection of pre-made grab & go dinner options that include take-and-bake entrees. Visit our website for curbside pickup and delivery options.

Herb & Eatery Wine & Liquor Shop: Our new liquor shop makes drinking at home even better. Curated by our resident Beverage Director Brandon Lervold, tipplers can peruse a well-curated selection of wine and liquor. For those looking to stock up, Brandon has also assembled sommelier boxes, and coming soon, a Liquor Shop Drinking Club. Other adult beverages include canned cocktails, batched cocktails to-go from Herb & Wood, Animae, and Herb & Sea, and a selection of boutique and other hard-to-find spirits.

Herb & Sea

Herb & Sea at Home: Our Encinitas outpost will be offering takeout Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., with delivery coming soon. The menu includes a mix of fresh seafood, meat dishes, and roasted vegetables. A variety of pizzas and pastas round out the offerings, alongside dessert, cocktails to-go, and wine by the bottle. Visit our website for curbside pickup and delivery options.

COMING SOON – Outdoor Dining at Herb & Sea: We’re working hard to create an all new outdoor dining option at Herb & Sea. Stay tuned for updates!

Animae

LAUNCHING JULY 22 – ANIMAE at Home (and something new!): Nate Appleman’s California-inspired take on not-so-traditional Asian cooking will be available for takeout starting Wednesday, July 22. Specially crafted to travel well and be enjoyed as takeout, the menu offerings will act as an introduction to the James Beard Award-winning chef, teasing diners on what’s to come once we’re able to open doors. In addition to takeout service, Chef Appleman will be working on launching an entirely new concept that will be served out of ANIMAE’s kitchen. More info coming soon!

Stay healthy, San Diego!
