7 Great Places to Watch the UFC Fights in San Diego

If you’re a UFC fan, you know that it can sometimes be difficult to find the best places to watch UFC fights.

It costs bars and restaurants a ton of money to show the UFC events (multiply the maximum capacity times the number of TVs/boxes) – so a lot of the bars take a pass.

If you haven’t found your favorite UFC viewing spot yet, or you’re looking for a new spot to check out, you’re in luck. We’ve searched the city for the best places to sit back, relax with a beer in hand, and watch the warriors of the UFC get after it!

1. Gaslamp Tavern

Gaslamp Tavern has you covered when it comes to all sporting events. Enjoy an ice-cold beer and some good bar eats, and watch some Ultimate Fighting.

2. The Bullpen Bar & Grill

The Bullpen Bar & Grill in Clairemont Mesa is another destination that UFC fans flock to when they’re looking for a place to watch the fight. Grab some wings, a pitcher (or two or three) and get your UFC on!

3. Miller’s Field

Miller’s Field in Pacific Beach hosts UFC fights without the cover! They also have a pretty bomb menu and serve up some nice cocktails.

4. Beachside Bar & Grill

Beachside Bar & Grill in downtown Encinitas is our Publisher’s favorite spot to watch the UFC fights. Their food is great, they keep the drinks flowin’ and strong, and they are stumbling distance to a great night out in Encinitas when the fights are done.

There are a lot of UFC lovers in Encinitas, so get there early if you want a table!

5. Dirty Birds Bar & Grill

If you like it straight to the point – wings, beer and sports – Dirty Birds is your place! It was ranked #10 Best Wings in America by Yahoo Sports and TheDailyMeal.com

They have five locations: Pacific Beach, College Area, Ocean Beach, Liberty Station, and USDC La Jolla. Always call ahead to check which locations (if not all) are showing the fights.

6. Rookies Sports Bar

Rookies Sports Bar in Oceanside has been around for almost 20 years, priding themselves on their “Cheers-like environment.” They have great food, beer and spirits!

7. True North Tavern

True North Tavern in North Park has a menu that features “bomb ass biscuits,” delicious burgers, killer desserts and much more. It creates the perfect atmosphere to watch some knockouts.

All of these spots are awesome venues for some UFC. Make sure to always call ahead and get there early because UFC fights tend to draw a pretty big crowd.

See you there, San Diego!
