Sashay Away to Havana 1920 For New Latin-Infused Live Entertainment

Havana 1920 has introduced weekly, Latin-inspired music performances as sweltering as the late-summer heat. The September and October lineup includes Latin jams by Karlos Paez and Friends every Friday night, and Brazilian beats by Bossa Lounge Project every Saturday.

Karlos Paez and friends

Paez, along with his band, the B-Side Players, incorporates sounds from Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico and Brazil with funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop rhythms for a sound all their own that’s been described as “War meets Lenny Kravitz by way of Ben Harper.” He will be joined on stage by a few of his friends – some of San Diego’s most talented performers.

Bossa Lounge Project

Bossa Lounge Project features the soulful vocals and acoustic guitar of Mario Marauak and Brazilian Percussion by Ilana Queiroz. Their sets are flavored with Bossa Nova, Samba and contemporary Brazilian music, mixing original songs with Brazilian favorites.

The performances begin at 7PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Havana 1920’s authentic cuisine is a must-try

Live music is complemented by Havana 1920’s authentic cuisine, including Cuba’s national dish, Ropa Vieja, made with shredded beef, peppers and onions in tomato sauce and served with black beans, white rice and fried sweet plantains; as well as elevated twists on signature Cuban cocktails, such as Hotel Nacional, made with Diplomatico Planas Rum, fresh pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, apricot liqueur, R&D Aromatic #7 bitters.
