Vistal Premieres 2022 Menu With Gray Whale Conservation Fundraiser Dinner

Celebrate peak whale watching season and support conservation of the magnificent gray whale with an evening of cocktails, dinner and sweeping views of the coastline at Intercontinental San Diego’s signature venue, Vistal, as they debut their 2022 menu.

On Saturday, February 12th, Vistal is delighted to collaborate with aligned partners Gray Whale Gin, WILDCOAST, and Xplore Offshore to support what they find inspiration most from – the California and Baja Coast.

Chef Todd Bencivenni, along with the team at Vistal, are proud to support local fishermen and sustainable practices in the kitchen, and will be featuring a new twist on Vistal’s sustainable and locally-sourced menu for 2022.

The event will kick off with small bites during a welcome reception paired with Gray Whale Gin cocktails.

Cocktail offerings from Gray Whale Gin will allow you to taste your way up the coastline with ingredients sourced along the migration path of the gray whale, including hand-zested limes from the birthplace of the gray whale, Baja California, fresh mint from Santa Cruz, and wild foraged juniper berries from Big Sur.

Meet the conversation experts

Following the reception, a three-course dinner will be served at Vistal with video and educational speakers from WILDCOAST and Xplore Offshore to honor the gentle giants.

Educational speakers will include experts from WILDCOAST, as well as local whale expert and sustainable whale watching guru from Xplore Offshore. Additionally, the team from Gray Whale Gin will be onsite, offering cocktails and insight into how their brand supports gray whale conservation, local sourcing in California, and their support for other organizations such as Oceana.

Supporting WILDCOAST

20% of all ticket revenue will go directly to WILDCOAST, in support of their gray whale conservation along the Pacific Coast. Prizes will be raffled off for all ticket holders, including a hotel stay, an Xplore Offshore whale watching tour, and more.

Vistal’s ambience and menu are driven by a respect for the coast, making it the ideal spot to watch the sunset over the bay as the grey whales begin their winter migration in the ocean beyond!
