Villa One™ Tequila Gardens To Bring Elevated Drinking, Dining And Nightlife Experience To Gaslamp

Villa One™ Tequila Gardens is coming to San Diego, and will bring elevated cocktails, an impressive collection of more than 160 tequilas and mezcals, and modern Mexican fare together with breathtaking views from the rooftop of Theatre Box in the Gaslamp Quarter at 701 Fifth Ave.

Created in partnership with Nick Jonas and John Varvatos, the stylish new rooftop bar, restaurant, and nightlife destination will open in Spring 2022.

“Destination Oasis”

“Villa One Tequila Gardens was formed as a destination oasis where one can unwind and experience the ultimate after-work or weekend Tulum getaway right in the heart of San Diego. At Villa One, it has always been about enjoying time with friends and John and I are thrilled to be offering the opportunity for people to do just that,” said Jonas.

“Creating Villa One together with my good friend and business partner, Nick Jonas, and the Villa One team has been a highlight of my career. I am so excited to bring the Villa One brand to life in this beautiful space that allows more people to experience the brand and its ethos of living ‘Life As It Should Be’,” adds Varvatos.

For the love of life…and tequila

Villa One Tequila was born from a shared love of Tequila and for experiencing “Life as it should be™” with friends old and new. Those sentiments are the foundation for the 5,000-square-foot open-air Villa One™ Tequila Gardens.

The rooftop lounge and bar will transport guests to Tulum, Mexico with luxurious textiles, shades of green inspired by agave fields, and accent walls with neon signs. Surrounded by stunning views of downtown San Diego and the Coronado Bridge, Villa One™ Tequila Gardens will provide a picturesque setting to dine and lounge with patio-style seating, a communal table for socializing, firepits, and an intimate bar all accented by the San Diego skyline.

Villa One™ Tequila Gardens will also set the mood for late-night energy, offering bottle service packages and hosting various live DJs Friday and Saturday nights.

Tableside pours take center stage

Over-the-top and tableside pours of Villa One tequila, cocktails, and margaritas will take center stage, complemented by a curated wine list and local craft beer.

The goal is to leave guests awestruck by a tableside preparation of Mexico’s famous Cantarito cocktails, a combination of Villa One tequila, fresh lemon, orange, lime juices and grapefruit soda served in a clay “jarrito” cup; as well as Carajillos, Old Fashioned and Cadillac Margaritas.

Signature drinks include La Toxica Margarita, a combination of mango-pineapple-serrano pepper-infused Villa One tequila, organic agave and watermelon; Single Lady, made with Empress Gin, muddled mint, cucumber and tonic water; and Mandilon, a combination of rum, melon liqueur and simple syrup; among others.

Fresh, flavorful Mexican cuisine

A menu of fresh, flavorful Mexican cuisine created by Jorge Cueva, known as Mr. Tempo, includes plates designed for sharing, tostadas, fresh seafood cocktails and tacos, burritos and enchiladas, among other entrées.

Signature dishes include green and red aguachiles; Mr. Tempo’s signature “JAPA-MEX” sushi rolls infused with Mexican flavors; 64-ounce USDA Tomahawk steak; birria, crispy shrimp, Ensenada-style fish, salmon and soyrizo tacos; wet burritos filled with choice of carne asada, pork belly, chicken, birria, vegetables or soyrizo; and more.

Expansion plans

Following its debut in San Diego, the stylish Villa One™ Tequila Gardens will continue to expand with new locations openings in Miami, Las Vegas, New York City, Los Angeles, and Dallas in the upcoming year.

Villa One™ Tequila Gardens is located at Theatre Box at 701 Fifth Avenue in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. More information is available by calling 619.814.2225, on the website here, and on Instagram and Facebook.
