A dedication to finding a cure for CureDuchenne
Christian Hogan and his son, Micah, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, were inspired to organize Cali-RAD Fest after attending a reggae show in Long Beach. They aimed to combine their passion for reggae with their mission to raise funds for Duchenne research.
Christian expressed their excitement about partnering with local reggae bands and the community, emphasizing the significance of supporting CureDuchenne to advance research for those affected by the disease.
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a severe genetic ailment affecting approximately 1 in 5,000 male births. CureDuchenne, established in 2003, has raised over $50 million for research, funding 17 projects that progressed to human clinical trials and offering programs to support affected families worldwide.
Debra Miller, CureDuchenne’s Founder and CEO, praised Christian and Micah’s efforts, empathizing as a parent of a Duchenne patient, and commended families who dedicate themselves to the cause.
