Spreckels Organ Society Hosts Annual Spooky Halloween Concert

Spreckels Organ Society, a non-profit organization curating concerts and performances in the heart of Balboa Park, is hosting its annual Spooky Halloween concert on Saturday, October 28 at 6:30PM with the “Phantom of the Opera” accompanied by the Spreckels Pipe Organ, the largest open air musical instrument in the world!

This year, the doors open at 5PM for a haunted Spreckels Organ Pavilion experience. Guests can choose a spooky tour of the Spreckels Organ – with two options (a very scary option and a G-rated option).

The Halloween concert will begin at 6:30PM with selections from the popular “Phantom of The Opera,” performed by soprano Anna Belaya and tenor Bernardo Bermudez with Raul Prieto Ramirez on the organ.

Additionally, fun, and haunted silent movies by Harold Lloyd and Roscoe Arbuckle will be shown, accompanied at the organ by Russ Peck. Also, choreography to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” will be danced by Thriller San Diego.

The Spreckels Organ Pavilion is set in beautiful Balboa Park. Performances bring a one-of-a-kind experience for guests; the elevated music venue begets world-class musical artists for San Diegans and visitors to enjoy, for free.

All concerts on the Spreckels Organ are free to the public in accordance with the 1915 Deed of Gift whereby the brothers John D. and Adolph Spreckels gave the organ and pavilion to the City of San Diego. Donations are always accepted.

See you there, San Diego!
