Gelato Sweet Spot Brings Willy Wonka Vibes to Poway

Gelato Sweet Spot is opening its flagship location in Poway with an experiential approach that transforms frozen yogurt into a full-blown adventure.

This 2,000-square-foot pink paradise combines self-serve frozen yogurt with a cereal bar, candy shop, and interactive elements that make it feel more like a theme park attraction than a typical dessert spot.

Gelato Sweet Spot

More Than Just Frozen Yogurt

Founded by George Sadler, who wanted to create something beyond the standard frozen yogurt experience, Sweet Spot offers 36 different toppings, international snacks and drinks, bulk bins of gummy candy, and a decadent cereal bar.

The Willy Wonka-inspired design includes vibrant, whimsical decor with hidden details and surprises around every corner.

What sets this place apart is the interactive “Secret Candy” room that requires a daily code announced on their Instagram page. Combined with a photo booth area, kid-friendly seating, and hard-to-find international snacks, it’s designed to keep both kids and parents entertained while creating those Instagram-worthy moments.

Community-Focused and Wallet-Friendly

Located in a central shopping center surrounded by neighborhoods, grocery stores, and schools, Sweet Spot is strategically positioned to serve Poway families and students. The competitive pricing structure charges per ounce rather than predetermined costs, making it accessible for regular visits.

Sadler emphasizes that Sweet Spot was created with the intention of bringing the Poway community together “all in the name of good fun and better frozen yogurt.” The central location and family-friendly atmosphere support that community-building mission.

Expansion Plans on the Horizon

This Poway location serves as the launching pad for planned expansion up and down the California coastline over the next few years. The concept’s combination of experiential elements with competitive pricing positions it well for growth in markets that appreciate both value and entertainment.

The seven-days-a-week operation makes Sweet Spot accessible for afternoon treats, family outings, and evening dessert runs.
