December Events at The Mental Bar

The Mental Bar is running two solid December events that give you reasons to visit beyond just grabbing a drink. We’re talking weekly Pilates sessions with free tea and a Christmas art exhibition featuring local artists.

If you’re in Southeast San Diego or looking for community-focused events that aren’t trying to be something they’re not, both of these are worth adding to your calendar.

Pilates Every Wednesday

The Enchanted Collective is hosting Pilates sessions every Wednesday evening for just $10, and that includes a free glass of tea afterward. You’re getting a workout and some chill time without the usual gym membership overhead or boutique fitness studio pricing.

Whether you’re new to Pilates or you’ve been doing it for years, everyone’s welcome. The format is designed to be approachable – you show up, move through the session, then relax with tea and conversation.

It’s as much about the community aspect as it is about the exercise, which makes it work for people who find typical fitness classes too isolating or competitive.

The fact that it’s happening at The Mental Bar rather than a traditional studio space changes the vibe. You’re not in a stark, mirrored room – you’re in a community space that feels more inviting and less intimidating.

Christmas Art Experience

The Mental Bar is hosting a holiday art exhibition celebrating this year’s featured artists and their latest creative contributions. You’ll meet the artists behind the work, see their festive creations, and spend an afternoon surrounded by art, community, and holiday cheer.

Featured artists include Brandon Flowers, Ashley Nadeeka, Isabel García, Bryttney Mischele, Ines Nefzi, Dope Rx, Ashley Bridges, Amber Newsome, and Tanisha Flanagan. That’s a solid roster of local talent, and having them present means you can talk to them about their work.

The event is free, and all ages are welcome, which makes it accessible for families, friend groups, or solo art enthusiasts. It’s the kind of afternoon event that works whether you’re deeply into art or just curious to see what local artists are creating.
