Dive into a Month of Scares at Rooftop Cinema Club
Rooftop Cinema Club, San Diego’s favorite outdoor cinema perched five stories above Columbia Street, is swapping in costumes and spooky décor for a full month of Halloween fun atop the Porto Vista Hotel in Little Italy.
With nearly 100 films on the October slate and a handful of special events sprinkled throughout, this is shaping up to be the venue’s biggest Halloween celebration yet.
From Slashers to Cult Classics
This October’s slate leans hard into the genre, with titles like American Psycho, Supernatural, Silence of the Lambs, Nightmare on Elm Street, Hocus Pocus, Scream, and Scream 2 filling out the calendar.
Add in staples like Halloween, The Conjuring, Beetlejuice, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Sinners, and there’s a movie night for every kind of horror fan, whether you like your scares campy or genuinely unsettling.
TV Tuesdays, Wine Wednesdays, and More
This month also introduces new weekly activations, including TV Tuesdays and Wine Wednesdays, alongside the venue’s regular Wooftop pet-friendly screenings and several films featuring dual soundtracks in both Spanish and English.
On top of that, a handful of standout events round out the month: a Scream(ing) Movie Night and Drag Show, a Practical(ly) Magic Girls Gone Mild party, and a Dia de los Muertos meet-and-greet paired with a Coco screening to close things out on a sweeter note.
Before You Head to the Rooftop
Doors open well ahead of each screening for first-come, first-served seating, giving you time to settle in and take in the panoramic views of San Diego Bay and the skyline.
Every screening comes with high-fidelity headphones, so bring your own blanket for cooler nighttime showings (or grab one at the Box Office), and if you’re catching a daytime screening, pack water, sunscreen, and a hat for the heat.
Tickets range from $11 to $28, with military and student discounts available, and popcorn included with most purchases. Valet parking runs $15 for up to four hours, or take the trolley, rideshare, or find street parking around Little Italy.
