San Diego’s Gelato Champs Are Going for Gold (Again!)

After landing second place in 2023 and snagging the top spot in 2024, An’s Dry Cleaning is officially back in the race—and aiming to be crowned Best Ice Cream Shop in America for the second year in a row in 2025.

The San Diego-based gelato shop is one of the 2025 nominees in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and this year’s title is up to the people.

Raising the Bar—One Scoop at a Time

Winning the #1 spot in 2024 was a major milestone, but the An’s team didn’t let it go to their heads. Instead, they treated the award as a challenge. “We didn’t treat the award as a moment to rest—we treated it as a challenge to be even better,” said Co-Founder Kris Warren.

Since then, they’ve launched new seasonal flavors, creative collaborations, and even opened a new shop in Ocean Beach—An’s Electronics Repair—keeping the same high standards in a brand-new setting.

There’s even a department fully focused on improving the customer journey. Everything they do is about leveling up, and it shows.

Not Just Ice Cream—It’s an Experience

Each An’s location has its own theme, from An’s Hatmakers to An’s Athletic Field Services. The concepts are quirky, but the quality is consistently excellent. Wherever you go, you’ll find world-class gelato, unexpected flavor profiles, and a brand experience that’s one-of-a-kind.

That blend of innovation and execution is what helped An’s earn national acclaim in the first place—and why they have a real shot at going back-to-back.

How to Help An’s Win Again

Voting is open now! Head to VoteAns.com and vote once per day through June 9. Every vote counts, and San Diego knows a champion when it tastes one.

Let’s keep the Best Ice Cream Shop in America right here in America’s Finest City in 2025.
