Data Geeks Unite

Data Science Alliance is hosting their Data Discourse sessions on Thursday, October 3, and Wednesday, October 16, both from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. It’s the perfect opportunity to dive into the ethical implications of data science and AI trends with fellow data nerds.

First Friday Festivities

Kick off your month with a bang at First Friday on October 4:

Unleash your creativity at Mockingbird Improv’s Free Intro Improv Workshop on Saturday, October 5, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. Perfect for beginners and the improv-curious alike, this dynamic session promises engaging games, plenty of laughs, and exercises to boost your communication skills and confidence.

Watercolor Wonders

The San Diego Watercolor Society’s 44th International Exhibition is not to be missed. Running from October 1 to 31, 10 AM to 4 PM daily, it showcases over 100 original artworks from talented artists worldwide. The opening reception is set for October 4 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Paradise Found

J.T. Burke‘s ‘Paradise‘ exhibition at Mandell Weiss Gallery offers a unique blend of vintage jewelry and mythical worlds. Opening October 4 from 6 PM to 8 PM and running through January 17, 2025, it’s a visual treat that’ll have you questioning the concept of utopia.

Borderless Creativity

Don’t miss the Blossoming Borders event on October 12, 2024 (time to be announced). This free celebration of Tijuana/San Diego border culture features art, music, and mouthwatering canapés from both sides of the border.

Family-Friendly Fun

Bring the little ones to Reading Legacies‘ Monthly Family Story Hour on Saturday, October 19, from 3 PM to 4 PM. It’s a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon filled with stories, laughter, and literary adventures.

Interlaced Identities

Christian Garcia-Olivo’s solo exhibition ‘Interlaced’ at Gallery 201 explores the complexities of identity and culture. On display from September 12, 2024, to January 10, 2025, it’s a thought-provoking showcase that’s sure to leave a lasting impression.

New Kid on the Block

Welcome to the neighborhood, Kumon Math and Reading Center! They’ve just opened their doors in building 202 of ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station. Using consistent practice, Kumon helps students build strong study habits and life skills. Swing by their new space to learn more about their programs and tutoring options.
