Arts District Liberty Station Salutes the Season With A Full Event Calendar

Each year, Arts District Liberty Station invites the community to Salute the Season with a full event calendar during the holidays. This year’s schedule has been published, and there will be great events happening throughout the art-filled campus through the end of December!

Rady Children’s Ice Rink At Liberty Station

November 17 – January 6
Rady Children’s Ice Rink, benefiting Rady Children’s Hospital, is at home in the historic heart of
Liberty Station. Enjoy festive outdoor skating every day from 10 AM-10 PM. Tickets may be purchased in person at the rink.

Shop Artists With A Creative Twist

November 17 & 18, 11-6 PM
Open studios at participating resident artists studios, museums and galleries. Shop art and art classes as gifts for the holidays directly from Resident Artists.

This event offers both Self Guided and Guided Studio Tours. Many artists will be holding raffles and live painting demos during this inaugural SHOP ARTISTS event! Explore the exciting talent right in Liberty Station, learn some new things and buy some unique holiday gifts.

Liberty Station Tree Lighting Ceremony

November 30, 6:00 PM
Watch as the spirit of the season lights up Liberty Station. Marvel as the 90 ft. Norfolk Pine is transformed with thousands of twinkling lights and colorful ornaments.

Be sure to get a first peak at artist Nico Meyer’s “Toying with Light” holiday light art installation and experience a sense of discovery as the patterns change. Grab a seat on the lawn or spend the evening rocking around the tree with live music, enjoy refreshments and merry decorations throughout Liberty Station.

Friday Night Liberty

November 2 and December 7, 5:00 -9:00 PM
Experience all the ARTS DISTRICT has to offer by attending a FREE Friday Night Liberty art walk – San Diego’s biggest FREE monthly art event! Meet working artists, enjoy dance, theatre and music performances, visit museums and galleries and explore the growing District decorated in its holiday finest.

Sip and stroll while you shop for holiday gifts with a creative twist, enjoy lively entertainment and new culinary and creative experiences. Stop by Dick Laub NTC Command Center, 2640 Historic Decatur Road, and pick up a monthly program. Monthly highlights at ARTSDISTRICTLibertyStation.com

Salute The Season Celebration With Santa And Friends

Saturdays in December, 5:00 -8:00 PM
Celebrate the holidays and take pictures with Santa! In addition to a visit from Saint Nick, the
Salute the Season Celebration with Santa and Friends will provide live entertainment including bands and carolers for all to enjoy! Join the fun by the seasonally decorated tree on the North Promenade near Stone Brewing.

Hannukah Celebration And Menorah Lighting

December 3, 5:00-6:00 PM
The Liberty Station Hanukkah Celebration and Menorah Lighting will take place in the Central Promenade next to the Rady Children’s Ice Rink. Rabbis from Chabad Downtown and Chabad of Pacific Beach will be in attendance. Live entertainment will take the stage for all to enjoy. Enjoy a night of skating after the lighting. 2620 Truxtun Rd.

Intersections Presented By transcenDANCE

transcenDANCE invites audiences on a journey called Intersections, a site-specific moving performance that celebrates San Diego’s unique history across ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station.

Free Day Of Dance At Dorothea Laub Dance Place

A tradition continues. San Diego Dance Connect, Malashock Dance, San Diego Ballet and San Diego Dance Theater will come together to offer a Free Day of Dance at Dorothea Laub Dance Place.
