The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch Returns With a Spectacular Season of Color

Spring’s most colorful spectacle is back! The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch officially opened for the 2025 season on March 1, transforming Carlsbad into a world of color and wonder as Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers blanket the hillside in a rainbow of blooms.

This year’s theme, Where Color Takes Flight, adds an extra layer of magic as the iconic floral display becomes the vibrant setting for two incredible experiences:

  • NEW Butterfly Encounter: Walk among hundreds of vibrant butterflies fluttering gracefully around you. You can use nectar sticks to attract these delicate creatures, creating a serene, magical connection with nature’s beauty. Admission: $5 per person.

  • “Glass in Flight” Art Exhibit: A breathtaking traveling installation by renowned artist Alex Heveri, featuring over three dozen larger-than-life sculptures of birds and insects crafted from Dalle de Verre glass and steel to embody the wonder of flight.

Every year, the Flower Fields burst to life for just eight to ten weeks, offering an immersive experience filled with color, nature, and seasonal festivities.

2025 Season Highlights

  • Butterfly Encounter: A hands-on experience that brings you closer to nature’s delicate beauty.
  • Glass in Flight Art Exhibit: Dazzling glass sculptures scattered throughout the fields.
  • Live Music Series: Featuring Gainesville The Band, Mariachi Serenata, The Free Collective Band, and more.
  • Wellness Classes: Golden Hour Pilates, Sunset Meditation, Sound Healing, and Flower Flow Yoga.
  • Sunset Wine Tastings & Tea in the Garden: A perfect way to unwind among the blooms.
