Pasta Takes Center Stage at La Jolla Theatre District

Theatre District dining is about to get a star-worthy upgrade as Chef Accursio Lota and Corinne Goria prepare to open their latest culinary masterpiece.

The acclaimed duo behind North Park’s award-winning Cori Trattoria is orchestrating something special in La Jolla, and the anticipation is already building.

Chef Accursio Lota

A Perfect Pairing

Just steps from the Tony Award-winning La Jolla Playhouse, this coastal Italian haven will take center stage at UCSD’s Theatre District.

The 4,000-square-foot space is getting the full red-carpet treatment from design virtuosos Bells & Whistles, the creative force behind local stunners Jeune et Jolie and Animae. Picture an open kitchen conducting a symphony of aromas while a sprawling patio sets the scene for perfect San Diego evenings.

Sicilian Seafood Meets Show Business

Chef Accursio Lota isn’t just bringing his World Pasta Championship credentials to the table—he’s crafting an experience that marries southern Italian coastal cuisine with theatrical flair. Every element, from the handcrafted pasta to the house-made gelato, promises to be a showstopper.

The real encore? Custom pre-theater menus inspired by La Jolla Playhouse productions, drawing on Chef Lota’s experience creating opening night fare for Milan’s Teatro alla Scala.

See you there!

The curtain rises in summer 2025 at 9165 Scholars Drive South, La Jolla.

The restaurant’s name is still waiting in the wings, but with Cori Trattoria’s three consecutive Tre Forchette awards from Gambero Rosso, this upcoming performance is sure to be a hit. Stay tuned for more details about this theatrical culinary debut.

See you there, San Diego!
