La Jolla Music Society is bringing the heat this fall with their free outdoor concert series at The Conrad. The Wu Tsai QRT.yrd Concert series is back, and it’s ready to make your autumn evenings unforgettable.

Get ready to groove to some seriously cool world strings and support our local talent, all without spending a dime.

World Strings Take Center Stage

This season’s theme is all about celebrating diverse string instruments from around the globe. Allison Boles, the brains behind LJMS’s Learning and Engagement, is pumped about showcasing these unique sounds and introducing new audiences to The Conrad’s awesome space.

Ali Paris, The Qanun Master (October 23)

Kicking things off is Ali Paris, a virtuoso on the qanun (think 14th-century piano-meets-harp). This guy blends Middle Eastern vibes with jazz and classical flair so smoothly that even Quincy Jones and Paul Simon can’t stop raving about him.

Mariachi Águila With Special Guests (November 7)

Next up, we’ve got some serious hometown pride with Mariachi Águila. These talented kids from LJMS’s after-school program are fresh off their win at the California State Fair Youth Mariachi Competition. Now, they’re teaming up with Mariachi Juvenil.

Alex Ciavarelli Jazz Trio (November 22)

Rounding out November, the Alex Ciavarelli Trio (aka The Rhythm Sexion) is serving up some pure, unadulterated jazz. No gimmicks, just three of San Diego’s finest musicians doing what they do best.

Don’t miss the Holiday Open House on December 12! The Wu Tsai QRT.yrd is transforming into a winter wonderland complete with a holiday market, storytime for the kiddos, and live salsa from the Manny Cepeda Orchestra. Grab some hot cocoa, do some shopping, and soak in those festive vibes.

See you there!

These concerts are the perfect excuse to soak up some culture, support local artists, and enjoy our amazing fall weather.

The free outdoor concert series kicks off on October 23 at 4:30 PM at The Conrad in La Jolla, with events running through December. Best part? It’s all free! So grab your friends, pack a picnic, and come experience the magic of live music under the San Diego sky.
