Culinary Dropout Makes Its West Coast Debut in Del Mar

Culinary Dropout in Del Mar is officially rolling into town, bringing its bold flavors, rebellious energy, and fan-favorite comfort food to the Del Mar Highlands Town Center.

One of Arizona’s most popular restaurant concepts, Culinary Dropout in Del Mar marks the brand’s first-ever West Coast location—and it’s designed to be your new go-to for everything from weekday hangs to weekend brunch.

Comfort Food With a Rebel Streak

At its core, Culinary Dropout is all about classics done right—think soft pretzels with provolone fondue, BBQ pork belly nachos, and the must-try Korean-style ribeye cap that sells out fast.

The menu’s got something for every craving, from crispy chicken katsu sandwiches to a black truffle Detroit-style pizza, along with hearty salads and pasta like chicken cacio e pepe.

Thirsty? The bar program is just as impressive. Standouts include the Giddy Up Espresso Martini, Abandoned Cadillac with Patrón and pomegranate redux, and the tropical Full Moon Party—all crafted to pair perfectly with your plate and the venue’s electric atmosphere.

Skate, Sip, and Celebrate

To kick things off, Culinary Dropout is teaming up with iconic local brand Sector 9 for a special grand opening giveaway. The first 50 guests who dine on opening day will score a free custom skateboard—your choice of three different board styles—with Sector 9 experts on-site to chat gear, skate culture, and more.

Miss the first 50? No worries—Sector 9 will still be giving away custom foamie trucker hats and other merch throughout the day while supplies last.

Giving Back to San Diego’s Heroes

Culinary Dropout is also using opening day to show some love to the local heroes who have our backs. They’ll be donating 20% of all opening day sales to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation, supporting the firefighters, lifeguards, and paramedics who help keep our community safe—especially in the face of recent wildfires.

Good food, good vibes, and a great cause—this is how you open in true San Diego style.

See you there!

As one of Arizona’s most beloved restaurant concepts, and with over 8,000 square feet of curated art, bold interiors, and an open-air feel, Culinary Dropout in Del Mar is more than just a restaurant—it’s a full-on vibe.

Expect live music, happy hour, brunch, and a lineup of crave-worthy dishes and drinks that are sure to make this spot an instant classic in the neighborhood.
