D-Day Heroes Take Center Stage at San Diego’s Most Moving Celebration
Seven incredible D-Day veterans are making downtown San Diego their headquarters for one unforgettable evening.
The SoCal French-American Chamber of Commerce is bringing these living legends together for an 80th-anniversary tribute that promises to give attendees goosebumps—a remarkable moment in history open to the entire community.
A Night of Living History
These extraordinary veterans, aged 98 to 104, will share their firsthand accounts of the Normandy landings with attendees.
Clayton B. Baum, Bill Becker, Andre Chappaz, Maxim J. Gurney, Betty Rosevear, Peter S. Sanzo, and Calvin Shiner are more than just names—they’re heroes who’ve recently returned from the beaches of Normandy thanks to the Best Defense Foundation and Delta.
A Toast to Freedom
The Intercontinental San Diego’s gorgeous bayfront setting, with the USS Midway as a backdrop, serves as the perfect venue for this celebration of Franco-American friendship.
Guests will mix and mingle with impressive attendees, including Adrien Frier, the Consul General of France in Los Angeles, while enjoying refreshments and taking in the million-dollar harbor views.
And because every great event needs a cherry on top, Delta’s throwing in two round-trip tickets to Paris for one lucky attendee, while the Intercontinental’s offering up a dreamy night’s stay. Talk about French-American relations in style!
